jimin sighed as he got another door slammed into his face. he didn't go around and mingle much so people in the building don't know about his speech impediment.

the boy suffered from a stutter disfluency all his life, mainly known as stuttering. he's been going to a type of therapy center to help with his stuttering, which isn't going so well, and they assigned an exercise that's suppose to help. the patients are supposed to sell all thirty boxes of cookies to people that live in their buildings. so far, he's only sold three.

"th-th-this sucks.." jimin muttered to himself.

before completely giving up, he looked at the door across from his, the new neighbors. jimin slowly walked onto their doormat and stared at the door. he swallowed the lump in his throat before knocking three times. it was a while before he heard anything.

the young boy decided to knock again but this time, only two times. as he turned around to walk away, the door suddenly opened.

"what the fuck do you want? i was napping."

jimin turned around and looked at the very pale, grey haired boy leaning against the door frame. he looked very tired and irritated.

"hello? are you mute or something? i asked you a question and i expect you to answer." he said, looking at the younger as if he was a complete idiot.

"s-s-sorry.." jimin said, taking a step closer. "i-i-i'm selling c-c-cookies, would you like to b-b-buy some?"

the grey haired boy narrowed his eyes at jimin, his mouth slightly open. "are you fucking with me or something?" he laughed.

"why do you talk like that?"

"i-i-i have a- um s-spee-"

the older male waved his hand in the younger's face, shaking his head. "i don't have time for games, kid. i'm wasting precious minutes to nap. goodnight." and with that, he slammed the door in jimin's face.

"goodnight? b-b-but it's noon.." the younger whispered before returning home.

"chim chim! how was it baby? how many did you sell?" his adoptive father jin asked, smiling widely.

"i-i-it wasn't so good.. i only s-s-sold th-th-three.." the black haired boy frowned.

"ah don't worry about it jimin! you'll sell them all before the deadline. i know you will" his other father namjoon said, trying to encourage the younger.

jimin smiled lightly, looking at both of them. ever since they adopted him, they've been nothing but loving and supportive.

"i-i-i guess.. i'm gonna go to t-t-taehyung's okay? him and j-j-jungkook are waiting f-f-for me." the boy said, grabbing his bag, heading out the door.

"be back before dinner jimin! bring the boys if you'd like!" jin shouted.

it was a few hours before dinner and jin had decided he was going to invite the new neighbors over.

gotta be polite, right? jin thought.

the blonde knocked on the door and waited a few seconds before it opened, revealing a sweaty boy with dark brown hair.

"uh hello, my name is kim seokjin, i live across the hall. i'm your neighbor" he said, smiling politely.

"oh hello, i'm jung hoseok." the sweaty boy said, returning a smile.

"sorry about all this.." he motioned to all the sweat. "i was playing an intense game of just dance. gotta get all five stars you know?" hoseok said, chuckling.

jin chuckled softly and nodded, even though he didn't know.

"anyways um, i wanted to invite you and your roommate to have dinner at my place tonight. this gives us all a chance to get to know each other!"

hoseok was quiet for a while, wondering if his friend would mind. he looked at the blonde male with a bright smile, "thank you for the invite! what time should we arrive?"

"are you serious? he slammed the door in your face?" jungkook asked in disbelief.

"he waved you off? just like that? what an asshole." taehyung rolled his eyes in anger, crossing his arms.

taehyung sat behind jungkook on the ground, wrapping his arms around his waist and rested his chin on his shoulder. jimin just nodded and looked down, jealous of the scene in front of him.

it wasn't that he was jealous of them, he just wanted to have someone that loved him as much as jungkook and taehyung loved each other. but no one wants to talk to the boy who can't say three full words without stuttering.

the dark haired boy looked at the time on his phone and quickly got up. "i-i-i have to g-g-go now. a-are you sure y-you guys c-can't come over?"

the two boys looked at eachother before they shook their heads.

"sorry jimin.." the brunette said softly, "maybe next time."

jimin nodded and walked out.

maybe they have something important to do, he thought. and he was right, they did. but it was something jimin didn't fully understand yet.

"i-i-i'm h-home!" the younger yelled as he threw his bag on the couch.

"in here!" jin yelled.

"chim chim, help me set up the table okay? we're having guests over." and with that, he continued cooking.

once the table was set and dinner was finished, there was a knock at the door.

"oh hello, come on in!" jimin heard namjoon say.

he quickly went to wash his hands and jimin nearly choked when he came back and saw who was sitting at the table.

it's him. the rude neighbor that reminds me of a grandpa, jimin thought.

"yoongi, hoseok, this is our son, jimin." jin said, smiling as he served jimin's food and sat down.

a bit embarrassed, jimin bowed slightly. "n-n-nice to m-meet you.." the younger said, avoiding eye contact with the grey haired male.
