Ellie's POV
Beep..beep...beep...beep. Was all I could hear. I tried to open my eyes, but they wouldn't open. I could smell roses, the ones Joe likes to buy me. I tried to move my hand, it wouldn't move. I tried to scream, nothing came out. I was trapped in my own body.

Joe's POV
"She's in room 261, down the corridor , turn right and it's the room on your left." The red haired nurse told me. I picked up Lexi's car seat off the floor and began to walk down the corridor then turned right, I looked through the glass. I saw her, my perfect girl. Lying there alone. Wires and tubes coming out of her body. I pushed open the door and walked in. I sat down in the chair next to her bed and placed Lexi on the small table next to the chair. She was sleeping so I left her. I got up and sat next to Ellie on the bed. I stroked and neatened up her hair. I kissed her forehead before a small brown haired male doctor walked in.
"Ah, Mr Sugg. I'm doctor Monroe. Ellie is in a critical condition. Your wife has water in her lungs, this has made her feel like she's being drowned. This has caused a trigger to the brain, she has had to be induced into a coma for her own safety. If we can't drain the water then she will possibly die. We are doing everything we can to try save Ellie. She is going into theatre in 30 minutes, for a operation, in which we would like to remove water from her lungs. The survival rate of this is 75%. Please, let us take care of her." I burst into tears,
"Why don't you go and take your daughter home. We will phone you if Ellie makes any progress."
"O..okk..okay, thank you." I said, hugging Ellie then kissing her. It wasn't the same. I picked up Lexi's car seat and walked out the door.
"Bye babe.. see you tomorrow." I whispered. I walked out of the hospital and back to our white Range Rover. I strapped Lexi's seat in and jumped around to the front.
Jack ran out of the house and grabbed Lexi out of the car for me.
"What's wrong buddy." He asked worried,
"Ellie.." I ran inside and down to my room. I locked the door and sat and cried. Why Ellie? How?
"Joe, can you let me in?" I heard Emily, Ellie's older sister, at the door. I unlocked the door and went to sit on the bed. She walked in, Emily looked so much like Ellie, carrying sleeping Lexi in her arms.
"Joe, you need to pull yourself together. Look at this little girl. What is she gonna do without you? She can't fend for herself yet. Your the one who needs to hold you family together." She said, passing Lexi into my arms. I pulled her tiny body close to my chest.
"I'm sorry, I just don't know if I can cope without her. What will I tell The kids. How will I be able to look after them alone?" I began to break down again
"Look Joe, your a great dad. With or without Ellie by your side, I know you will still be great. Just think of the kids. It's not fair on them to see you like this. Pull yourself together."
I got up off the floor, keeping Lexi steady in my arms. I placed her down in the Moses basket next to the bed and pulled the blanket over her.
"Thank you Emily." I said walking back over to her and embraced her in a big hug.
We walked upstairs together. Jack was sat on the couch watching the walking dead. "Jack mate, I'm sorry for how I reacted earlier. Thank you for looking after the kids. I really appreciate it."
"It's okay buddy." He said jumping off the couch and hugging me. "We can watch them again tomorrow if you want?" Jack added
"Erm.. yes please. The doctor was gonna phone me in the morning,
