i changed the cover like a week ago. i like this one better. i made another book with random covers.
It had been 3 days since the dinner and I stayed holed up in my room. Could you blame me? It was along the lake, had a nice bathroom, and a wonderful room. Plus, most of the pack hated me. I hadn't talked to him for the same amount of time. He hasn't even tried to come give me my medicine, instead he got Dr. Blaze to do it for him, strolling in every 5 hours with a glass of water mixed with a putrid purple liquid.
A maid would come each morning and drop clothes for me, though I had no idea why. Its not like I was leaving the room. Plus, who's clothes even are they. I appreciate who keeps giving me them, but seriously I can't live off of their supply of clothes.
I look at the clock. The short hand was around the 9 and the longer about to it the 12. Dr. Blaze should be here soon, and my change of clothes should come shortly after. I sigh. I'm too tired to deal with the doctors suave voice and a mumbling maid.
I go to take a shower in hopes that the two would just leave the stuff on the bed. I kept it locked but they both had a key.
I stripped down from the pjs, it was actually more like a nightie. Who ever wore it was really provocative. I was pretty sure my boobs were going to pop out.
I turned on the shower and stepped in, welcoming the patter of hot droplets on my skin. I was tired. So tired. I wanted to go home. I knew that my pure transformation was coming soon, and it most definitely couldn't happen here. Whenever my heightened shift would come, Mabel would always be there holding my hand, until of course I went violent. Due to my superior abilities, I had what you could call a superior shift.
Around 18 most of us learn how to control our wolves, we can shift freely and avoid the full moon shift. But with me its different, I can freely shift, but I can't control my monthly shift. And even worse, during it, my violent wolf is completely in control. Back home we had a section in the woods were I would go every shift. We had to keep finding new section because after around 2 shifts the whole things was destroyed.
I would have to figure something out.
I turn off the shower and wrap a towel around my body. After applying lotion, brushing my hair, and putting concealer on (who has time for anything else?), I stepped out of the bathroom to see if my clothes came.
I screamed. Loudly, might I add.
On my couch sat a girl around my age holding what appeared to be a skirt of some sorts, and smiling creepily at me.
"What the hell are-" I started out to say before confidently being interrupted by the pretty stranger.
"I'm Adaline, the next best thing to your friend."
I look confusedly at her,"I'm Au-"
"Aurora, I know who you are. Everyone does." She says looking at the skirt and cropped sweater her in hands. She holds it out in front of her and then throws it to me.
"Wear this." And with that she shoes me back into the bathroom.
I'm put the outfit on, appreciating her good fashion sense. I hear her call out something about doing my hair, so I quickly blow it out into loose waves. I apply lipgloss, because now that I'm actually going to be with someone might as well put some effort. While going through this, maroon flats are slipped under the door.
I put them on and come out of the bath room.
She looks up and down and claps her hands. "We're going shopping!"
I found myself in a car. A really nice car. Adaline wrapped her hands around the wheel, revved the engine, and drove out of the woods onto the highway.
"So umm, who are you?" I asked curiously, thankful for scenery other than the one outside of my bedroom.
"Oh I'm Adaline Blaze. Alpha Blaze's cousin to be precise." She hummed while putting on her right turn signal.
"Are you Dr. Blaze's daughter?"
"Oh yeah, you met him? Of course you have. I specialize in healing too." She looks in surprise.
She takes an exit of the highway, and onto a busy road. She didn't act like a wolf, but she smelled like one.
"I hope you don't mind me asking, but how do you know all this stuff? Like how to drive, I mean I absolutely love cars, but know one in my pack ever learned including me. Plus you know the way to the mall by memory."
She sighed. And looked at me and then back on the road.
"I'm kind of what you'd call a lame wolf. I don't shift. So I kind of you know fit in better in human society than the pack. I live in an apartment a few miles from here. It across from a hospital where I'm on my second year of residency. I guess I got the urge to heal from my father"
"Second? You're so young, how can you be on your second year of residency?" I asked astonished, she was like at the very most 21.
"I may scream bossy fairy bitch, but I'm kind of smart. Graduated from high school at 14. But thats enough about me, we're finding you clothes!" She ended on a smile as she pulled in the parking lot of a huge building.
