I got to 2,200 reads + Yay! I love you guys for reading and getting me there! ♥ I also want to announce that (though I am no longer there right now) I have reached #294 in werewolf and #379 in fantasy at one point! I would love it if I could get to 250 on either list. I would just scream if I could get on what's hot list. That would just kill! Anyway without giving wattpad disease:
*Chapter Sixteen*
Mai's pov
I ran faster from Jim's house to the den as I could hear the storm getting louder. I looked at the sky and saw a flash of lighting. I counted until i reached fifteen seconds. The storm was 3 miles away. I was one mile away from the den and one and a half away from the cave. If I could get there in time, it would be almost just in time for the storm. I picked up my speed avoiding branches and fallen trees. I jumped over a couple of streams and I was at my pack's den.
I barked to call all of the wolves out of the den. They came running out. The pups came close behind there mothers and that's when I realized my pup, my Moon wasn't with them.
My eyes grew wider as I looked left to right and sniffed the air for him. He wasn't there. What is going on? Why is this boy always getting lost from the pack? If I find him, he's getting the scolding of his life. I however, I was still worried out of my fu*king mind. This was my baby I was talking about. Hemming came up to me to answer my silent question.
"Alpha. Moon was out playing with the other pups and the little ones told us that after a while they couldn't find him. We looked all over for him, but his trail ended at . . . . . ."
"SPIT IT OUT HEMMING!" I growled.
"His sent ended at a cliff over a river that has considerably fast current." I stared at him with disbelief. I was so skeptical, I shook my head back and forth. This couldn't be happening! Why! No! I couldn't break down now. I had to take my pack to the cave for the storm.
"Let's go. We will go to the cave to get shelter from the storm. Pick up your pups. We are going to run all the way there." I waited till they were ready and I took off in a dash. It didn't take us long as the forest was a lot clearer after the den. When we got there, I made sure everyone one was there and situated. I then proceeded to talk to Hemming.
"I am going to look for Moon. You are in charge until I get back. If I don't get back before the storm ends, go to Jim's pack house and wait. I will go there instead."
"Yes alpha, but are you sure you want to go out when the storm is so close?"
"I have to look. I HAVE to. As a mother, it is just what I have to do, but I'm sure it is what any parent would do. You will understand when you have a pup." I left with that and started with a mad dash to the cliff the forest said he had fallen off of.
I sniffed around. There was still the faint sent of him, but he had definitely fallen of this cliff. I was out of my mind, but I was going to do it. I was going to use it. It makes you extremely tired, but maybe I could only use just a bit till I find sight of him. I will manipulate the wind. That was one of my other powers, but I didn't use it much as you can see why.
I shifted into my human form as it would carry me farther. I jumped off the cliff and summoned the wind. Even doing that took a lot out of me. I took a deep breath and breathed out. I soon felt the wind pull me up sightly. I looked around from left to right. After a few minutes, the rain started to come down hard. I dropped a few feet with pressure. Not long after that, I spotted Moon.
He was unconsus against a boulder with the water pressing agaisnt him. I glided down to grabbed him in passing, but I was to tired to glide back up and crashed back into the water. The currnet was quickly picking up with the rain. I put Moon in my mouth and shifted in my wolf. I came out to the top.
I looked around for edge of the river. The left side was closer to me. Fortunately, it was also the side my pack was on, but it was a climb to the top. I swam for the shore getting tired by the second. I spotted a branch sticking out from the ground. I tossed Moon onto the river bank. I didn't know if I was going to make it. I was getting really tired. I shook my head and went for the branch. I shifted and grabbed a hold of it. When I finally got onto the back I shifted back and shook out my fur.
I went to grab Moon and discovered a cave. I picked him up and entered. Dropping down to the ground, I then continued to lick the water out of Moons fur. When I got most of it out, I curled up next to him and passed out.
I had found my son. He was alive. I was dead tired so I passed out from exhaustion not caring what was in the cave I was in.
