Dan has been secretive about something all week.
He's been researching things and shutting his laptop hurriedly as soon as I walk in the room- I mean, I'm not stupid, he's up to something.
So when he said he was taking me somewhere, I wasn't very surprised at all, but I pretended like I was just to please him.
Dan enters the lounge room at about 3 in the afternoon.
"I want to take you somewhere, so be ready at 6 o'clock" he exclaims excitedly.
"Okay bear" I say, kissing him on the forehead lightly, and resuming my browsing.
Fast forward to 6 o'clock and I'm wearing my plaid shirt and some skinny jeans of course, because which look is complete without skinny jeans?
Dan comes out of his room and I can't take my eyes off him. He is wearing his moth shirt and also some skinny jeans. His hair is straightened (obviously) and he smells amazing...ok that sounds weird but he does!
"Ready?" He asks, grabbing his phone and wallet before grabbing my hand and leading me out the door. I stumble but regain my balance quickly.
Quickly checking his phone, Dan tells me that we've got precisely 4 minutes until the bus comes.
"Dan we have to run to catch it!"
"Phil, I can't run in skinny jeans!"
"You're such a spork, come on!"
I speed ahead, panting and spluttering my way down the street as the headlights of the bus become visible in the slightly foggy night air.
"Dan! It's coming!"
"I'm....*cough*... running as fast...*at this point gasping for air*... as I can!"
"Well go faster than what you can!"
At this point I didn't really care that that didn't make sense, I was focused on getting on safely, and with all limbs. I flag it down just in time and I make the disgruntled driver wait for my beautiful Dan.
Dan gets on and we swiftly sit down to avoid falling down due to the sheer force of the acceleration, as the vehicle screeches down the road at a speed I'm sure wasn't legal.
The ride passes uneventfully, and we get off in a part of town I don't usually go to.
"So Danny boy, what are we doing here?"
"You'll see" was the only reply I got.
We walk a little further, making light conversation and observing the stars, which were barely visible because of the fog.
"Have you ever played laser tag?" Dan says quizzically as we walk into this crowded arcade, with flashing lights and neon signs.
"No but I've always wanted to!"- which is true, I've heard about it but never done it.
"Prepare to be amazed" he says wistfully whilst registering and paying for the game.
"I have high expectations" I say whilst admiring the plushies from afar.
After being told the rules, and being seperate into teams (I was on a team with Dan luckily), we finally put on our cool vests, equip our laser guns and prepare for battle.
The game had started, and let's say that I wasn't off to a good start. Dan claims that it was his first time playing but he absolutely blitzed it, coming first for our team on the leaderboard. I came second last, but there's always room for improvement, right?
After all that excitement, we wander down to a park, and sit on the swings, bathed in the light of the moon and the streetlights.
Dan gazed off into the distance, and sighs contentedly.
"I'm so lucky to have you Phil"
"I'm so lucky to have you" I reply.
"You changed my life, I was a teenager who drank, smoked and cut myself, and look where I am now"
He looks at me with those brown eyes I love and smiles;
"I've got an apartment with you, we have a dog, we are authors and we have traveled the world on tour. Oh and our YouTube channels of course"
I look up and notice that the fog has cleared, illuminating the stars and moon much more than before.
"I just love you so much Phil"
"I love you too Dan"
He leans in and his lips touch mine, our kisses filled with passion and love.
And at that moment I knew, this was how I wanted to spend the rest of my days with Dan, and that's all that matters.
Well, that is the end of Texts||Phan.
I'd like to thank those who have helped me edit, and encouraged me to update even when I felt like shit. Updating started to feel like a chore and I felt like a weight was on my shoulders when I hadn't updated for a week, let alone a month.
Thank you so much for reading this book- I may do a epilogue one day, but for now I'll just use wattpad as a reading app/site.
