I held the phone tightly and about 5 seconds later, the police arrived infront of our house.
"We got a report of someone disturbing you ladies?" The cop said as he wrote something down on a notepad.
I stood quiet. Brooke looked at me and gave me the "say something" look. I looked away and stayed quiet. Brooke sighed.
"Yes but he's gone and we didn't see who it was." Brooke lied.
I looked at her and felt a weight lifted of my shoulders. The cop looked at us, as if not buying it, but he just closed his notepad and put his pen away in his pocket.
"Alright, if he comes back call again and make sure you get a look at him." He said as he walked away and go in his shinny cop car.
He drove away and I licked my dry lips. My breathing was heavy and I felt as if Brooke could hear my rapid heartbeats.
"Brooke..." I started.
"Save it." She said as she got inside the house.
"I... Thank you." I said silently.
"Don't thank me, I only did it because I don't want to be in the middle of a criminal chase." She said as she walked upstairs and locked herself in her room.
I sighed and looked at the phone that I was holding so tightly in my hands. Images of him handing it to me before he left played in my head like a movie on repeat. Tears threated to come down my already puffy eyes but I wouldn't let them come out. Everything was happening so fast. Too fast. If only I hadn't seen Drew with her...maybe everything would still be the same. No. I'm glad I saw her. I shouldn't waste my time by missing Drew. I shouldn't and I won't. I turned the phone on and it seemed as if all the information had been deleted. I looked at the pictures, nothing. I looked at the contacts and only found one name, Bruno's. He gave it to me so I would call him. Suddenly, a tear fell on the cellphone screen. I wiped my eyes, pretending nothing happened but it wasn't working. Tears kept falling and I couldn't do anything about it. I sat on the floor, ignoring the fact that I was wearing a expensive dress. I pulled my hair in fustration and cried. The phone rang in my hands and Bruno's name appeared on the screen. I immediatly threw the phone which landed on the floor with a loud bang. My hands starded shaking and more tears were coming down each minute. I layed down on the floor and cried. There was nothing else for me to do, except cry. Soon, I fell asleep.
"That was close." Phillip said as we stepped inside our house.
That was close. That little blonde b**** would call the police. I was so close to getting Nala but no. Now that I knew where she was, I needed to have her even more.
"I'm gonna go to my room and put my guns away, you okay?" Phillip asked as he stopped to look at me.
I looked at him but then just walked passed him and walked towards my room. I got in and locked the door, not wanting to see or speak to anyone, except Nala. Nala. The way she looked at me when she opened the door. Fear was clear in her eyes. She's scared of me, I know it. I can't stand the feeling of her being scared of me when she could be in my arms. Damn. This girl has me head over heels. I sat on the edge of my bed and sighed, wishing I could hear her voice again. I reached for my pocket and got my phone out. Suddenly, I remembered that I had given Nala my other phone before leaving. I don't know why I did that, but i'm glad I did. I had about 3 phones for different purposes, the main reason was so that the people that owed me could find me. I dialed the phone number and waited. I let it ring for about 2 minutes when I finally gave up.
