I was sitting on the couch, pissed. I was just muttering to myself and swearing when my phone buzzed.
Hey Alex can I talk to you?
Hi Austie Boo!!!! Sure! When??
Is now good?
There was a knock on the door. I got up and opened the door to see a grinning Austin.
"AUSTIN!" I yelled happily. I hugged him tightly. "What are you doing here?" I asked.
"They resigned me," he said with a grin. I squealed.
"Yay! Austie Boo! This is so exciting!" I exclaimed. He nodded.
"Where's Rob?" he asked.
"At the stadium with the others. He was being a jackass so I left without him," I sighed. My face lit up. "I'm sure they'd love to see you!"
"Yeah. I'll go visit. But I figured I'd stop by. See you later alligator," Austin said. He left. Now I felt happier. Austie Boo was back! I sat on the couch before deciding to play Madden '13. I was amazing at that game. I popped it in and started playing, absolutely kicking the Ravens' asses.
"SUCK IT JOE FLACCO!" I yelled, as his video-game self went down, hurt. I watched him go down and limp back up. Third down.
*Rob Nincovitch's character sacks him*
Tom's character came up and he got the ball. I threw it to Danny's character, who got tackled. We lined back up and I threw to Julian's character. Then we lined up and I handed it off to LeGarrette, him making it to the endzone.
"WOO HOO!" I cheered, making him do the 'Swagger' touchdown dance. That was by far my favorite. Second quarter. I intercepted the ball as Devin McCourty's character. I got sacked and the offense came back onto the field.
I adjusted my blue Patriots beanie. I was sitting on the sideline, watching the game intently. I was still super pissed off. I was thinking of strategies as I watched Tom throw the ball to Rob. He ran and went down, but didn't get back up. I heard him yelling, and clutching his knee in pain.
"ROB?" I yelled. He stated down and kept yelling obscenities. "BILL GET HIM OFF THE FUCKING FIELD!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.
They dragged him away to the locker room as I watched in horror.
I watched Alex scream hysterically as Rob was being brought off the field. I sprinted off the field and over to Bill.
"Coach, take me out of the game," I said breathlessly.
"No," he said, and he shook his head firmly. "I'm not taking you out, Edelman."
"I'm the only one that can calm Alex down. Unless you want her to go into a frenzy, take me out of the game. Put Collie in. Take me out," I demanded. Again he shook his head.
"Look, either you're taking me out or I'm running off this damn field," I threatened. He shook his head.
I ran after a hysterical Alex and heard Rob swearing as he was brought down the tube.
"Alex? Alex?" I called. Her shivering figure was barely visible in the dark tube to the locker room.
"J-Julian?" she quivered. I nodded and trotted over to her, pulling her into a brotherly embrace.
"Are you ok?" I asked. She shook her head.
"No. He was screaming and yelling. Julian, he's not ok," Alex whispered, burying her head into my jersey.
"Let's just wait here for a minute. We can go in then. We'll let them check him out first then we can see him in the locker room. You won't wanna go in now," I said softly. She shook her head.
"I'm going in now," she insisted.
She's gonna regret it, I thought bitterly.
