"Zayn? What are you doing here?"
I stared at the boy sitting behind me in bewilderment. Had he been here the whole time? Why was he even at this match?
Zayn scoffed and rolled his eyes, stepping down to sit directly beside me.
"Gee Carter it's nice to see you too." He said jokingly, nudging my shoulder.
I didn't laugh.
"Have you been here the whole time?" I asked incredulously.
Zayn shook his head.
"Nah me and Louis got here a couple minutes ago. You were too busy gawking at football boy to notice us walk past." He nodded his head in the direction of the field.
I glanced up to see that the game had picked right back up, and Liam was playing harder than before.
"But you - hey I wasn't gawking!" I shouted.
Zayn laughed, throwing his head back.
"Oh babe, you were gawking."
"No I wasn't you -"
"Carter dear, who is this?"
I turned abruptly to my other side to see Tanya looking at Zayn and I curiously, her gaze flitting down to where his leg was touching my own.
"I, uh, sorry Tanya this is Zayn." I muttered, leaning back so she could get a better look at him.
"Hello ma'am I'm Zayn Malik, a good friend of Carter's." Zayn said in his most polite tone, leaning across me to shake Tanya's hand.
I jumped when his arm grazed my chest, turning to glare at him. He just gave me another signature smirk.
"He's not my friend, he's just an annoying little prick who irritates me at the restaurant." I corrected.
"Oh now Carter, I -"
"Are the two of you arguing to try and relieve the sexual tension again?"
I groaned, putting my head in my hands as Louis bounced up the bleachers with a soda from the concession stand, sitting down on the other side of Zayn.
"Can you guys please go away?" I hissed under my breath.
"Why, so you can -"
The three of us all turned to look at Tanya, who had just spoken.
"Tanya?" I asked, seeing the terror stricken look on her face. "Tanya, are you alright?"
"Mom, is that -"
"Yes that's him, we need to go sweetie." She cut off Anthony, grabbing her purse and standing up. "Carter please tell Liam we're so sorry, but we have to go."
"What? Why?" I asked.
But Tanya wasn't paying attention to me, she was staring at a man who had just walked over towards the bleachers, leaning against the fence. He was a handsome older man, dressed in a full suit and tie. He looked important, and Tanya was freaking out for some reason. Who was he?
"I'll explain later, but we need to go right now, I'm sorry." She rushed, maneuvering past myself, Zayn, and Louis, followed by Anthony.
The two of them rushed down the steps of the bleachers, trying to leave the field without the man noticing. His back was turned to them, but the second Tanya and Anthony reached where he was standing he turned around.
