"Attention, please, do we have a River Taylors in the house?" Clark's voice flowed over the intercom in the record store. He chuckled to himself and waited for the annoyance he knew it'd cause River. The two had a kind of relationship that they were able to joke around with each other, yell at one another without any serious damage caused by it.

"Clark, what the hell are you doing?" River yelled, disturbing the few customers that were in the store as he placed the new stock of records on the shelves. He shook his head at him and didn't move from his work place.

"Oh, you know, just having some much needed fun," he laughed into the intercom. "And I may enjoy the annoyance of our customers," he grinned happily as he lifted his head to look over at the blonde who just shook her head at him.

"Get your ass up here, River," Gwen laughed, taking control of the intercom. She grabbed the phone from Clark's fingertips and brought the receiver to her mouth. "I have a surprise for you."

"Gwen?" River said quietly to himself, her voice earning his attention as he set the last sleeve down and walked down one of the aisles that brought him up to the front counter. "Hey," he smiled as he walked over to her. "What are you doing here?"

"Is it hard to believe that I wanted to see you?" She asked sweetly and surprised both boys when she leaned onto her toes, one hand rested on River's cheek as she kissed him softly. The sweet gesture lasted a few seconds before she settled back onto her feet and smiled at him.

"Uh, no, of course not," River shook his head. "I'm just surprised, that's all. I wasn't expecting you."

"I wasn't expecting this either," she laughed. "I was supposed to be going out to breakfast with my brother, what happened last night brought us to a better place. I don't know how that's possible but-."

"Oh, yeah, how'd that go?" He asked.

Gwen's lips parted, ready to divulge in secrets of her conversation with her older brother but she stopped herself when she took notice to Clark again and cleared her throat. River's eyes followed hers to the brunette standing tall over the counter top, watching in amusement of the two.

"Don't worry about him," River told her. "He already knows about what happened. I guess I should formally introduce the two of you, shouldn't I?"

"Please do," Clark nodded in agreeance.

"Gwen, this is Clark, my roommate and one of my best friends," River pointed to the brunette. "Clark, this is Gwen, Harry's sister and my-."

"Girlfriend," Gwen grinned.

"And my-" he went to repeat her before realizing what she had actually said. "Wait, what?"

"You heard me," Gwen told him before looking at Clark who was snickering.

"God, I love this girl," he shook his head and held his hand up for her, which she immediately high fived. "You should have seen the look on your face, man," Clark told him, imitating the face before laughing again.

"He told you to do that, didn't he?" River groaned.

"Maybe," Gwen smiled. "It was kind of funny."

"You're horrible," River shook his head.

"You think I have pretty eyes still though, don't you?" She teased and her lips curled up into a big smile. "Okay, I had to do it, I'm sorry. It's the only way he was ever going to agree to let you come with me."

"Come with you where?" He asked.

"On a proper first date," she told him happily.

"Oh, so last night was what? A trail run?" He questioned.
