'ugh, this dress is so uncomfortable.' clary hissed, pulling the bottom down.'you look amazing in it.' izzy laughed, leaning back against the concrete wall of pandemonium, a blue cocktail held lazily in her hand.
clary just sighed, her red hair curled around her head, bracelets adorning her arms. a few minutes of staring into the partying crowds later, she spoke. 'by the angel, i'm thirsty. i'm going to go and get something to drink. do you want anything?' she turned to izzy.
'take mine, i'll get something else.' izzy smiled at clary, handing her the cocktail she was holding, but not before taking a sip of it. 'enjoy.' she winked, and clary's heart fluttered.
isabelle sauntered off, swaying her hips. clary stared at her, entranced, and then blinked and looked away. she lifted the glass to her lips- the glass izzy had just drunk from- and swallowed, enjoying the burn on the way down.
a man in a leather jacket walked up, smiling seductively at clary. 'hey, do you come here often?' he asked, leaning against the wall beside clary.
'no, not really.' clary said, really not into him- even if he was drop dead gorgeous.
'aw, that's a shame, baby girl, i was hoping i would see you again.'
clary smiled at him, like sorry about that.
he ran a hand through his golden hair, as if to try and seduce her.
suddenly, isabelle was at her side, an arm slung over her shoulder and a scarlet drink in her hand. 'sorry, jace, i don't think i've introduced you two. clary, this is jace, my adoptive brother, jace, this is clary, my girlfriend.' as if to emphasise her point, izzy kissed her cheek, leaving a faint lipstick print behind.
'sorry, iz. i didn't know you two knew each other.' jace said, before waving and leaving.
'thanks, izzy. that was a stroke of genius.' clary smiled at her, not quite willing to leave the embrace of isabelle's arm.
'what, pretending to be your girlfriend?' izzy grinned.
'yup, that.' clary said. she lifted her drink, gulping down some of it. izzy cleared her throat awkwardly and lifted her arm off of clary's shoulders, her cheeks pink.
clary nearly passed out from shock— she, clary fairchild, was making isabelle lightwood blush.
she grabbed izzy's arm, sliding her hand down her arm to grab her hand, lacing their fingers together. 'how about we keep the act up a little longer? just to protect us from guys hitting on us, of course.' she smiled innocently, sipping from her drink again.
'um, okay.' isabelle stuttered.
clary smiled at her again, and they lapsed into conversation, pointing out people in the crowd and narrating their lives.
'so, i was thinking, maybe we could make this- pretence a reality?' clary asked hesitantly, biting her lip.
isabelle turned to clary, shocked, and stuttered, 'i, I didn't think you, um, swung that way.'
'oh honey, i'm as straight as a unicorn riding a rainbow.' clary giggled, squeezing izzy's hand. 'so, does that mean a yes?'
izzy grinned. 'fuck yeah.'
