Chapter 3 the party

I was actually quite surprised when I got out of the car and saw Cynthia giving our whole posse a a friendly smile and wave.
Maybe she was just playing the cards because her parents were standing right beside her. Yeaaa that's it

we all went to the table where Cynthia and her parents had a few drinks and food set out. Everyone grabbed something and finally headed inside.

Cynthia's house looked really big from the outside but when I stepped in on the doormat I could already tell it was even more gigantic than I had originally thought.

"Is that a stage?!" Becky shouted out.

"And a fuze ball table?!" Shane squealed.

"Calm down Shane, you sound like you're four years old" I stated.

"Somebody over here thinks they're a bad ass" he said sarcastically while running to the table to play. I couldn't help but chuckle.

Becky and Shane got lost playing fuze ball, while Brett and I ventured off to have a little of our own fun.

We interlocked fingers as he whispered "come on"

I decided I wasn't going to ask questions and that I'd just follow his lead. He picked up his speed to where we were practically running.

"We're going to the car, I'm going to take you somewhere" he said looking at me.

"But what about Cynthia's par-" I was cut off.

"Don't worry about her, we'll be back before anyone even notices we were gone" I nodded and jumped in the passenger seat.

I was twirling my hair when he looked over at me one hand on the steering wheel one on his lap smiling at me from ear to ear shaking his head.

"What?" I asked shrugging.

"Oh nothing your just cute" he replied back smirking now staring at the road.

We exchanged looks and he saw I was blushing so he laughed. I couldn't help but laugh too.

"We're here" he said as he pulled into a rocky area with pine trees surrounding it.

He quickly opened the car door and hopped out to come and open my door for me. He jumped on the hood of the car and climbed to the roof. he motioned me to to the same.
Ugh I knew it would be embarrassing If I fell off the car while trying to climb to the top...

He stuck his hand out to help me as I put my foot on the car to climb up. When I was 3/4 of the way on the hood I let out a sigh of relief.

"yes" I said glad it was over. but before I could go any further, my left foot slipped off the hood and I fell off into the mud.

"Aww crap my dress." I moaned. "Brett help!" he jumped off the car laughing as he helped me up.

"What the heck is so funny Brett my brand new dress has mud ALL OVER IT" I said with anger in my voice.

He couldn't stop laughing and I rolled my eyes deciding not to be so serious, so I loosened up and laughed a bit too. It was kind of funny. But not a lot because I loved that dress.

He swooped me into his arms and carried me to the roof since I couldn't do it myself as we laughed.

"It's a really beautiful view" I stated slowly when we finally were settled on the hood. And it really was. It seemed like there was a million stars in the sky and they were all shining out. Just for us.

"I thought you'd like it" Brett said as he wrapped an arm around me.

"Where'd you find this place?" I blurted out.

"My dad used to take me here when I was younger" he said running his hands through his scruffy blonde hair.

I smiled. "Well it's much better than Cynthia's party" I said chuckling.

He laughed and pecked me on the cheek.

"I'm kinda scared" he mumbled so low I could barely hear.

"What?" I asked. "Why?"

"Scared for my future." He said while fidgeting with his thumbs.

"I'm 18 and I still don't know what I want to do when I get out of college and off into the real world"

"Well," I stated. "No one really knows what they want to do with their lives sometimes even in their first year of college. That's why everyone takes the same courses freshman year." I stated trying to make him feel better.

"That's true" he said reassured. "I guess I have time."

I smiled at him while I parted his hair off to the side and ran my fingers through it.

For a moment we just stared at each other. Enjoying the silence. Until he decided to lean over and pull me in for a kiss. He pushed his lips on top of mine and they moved in Rhythm as I ran my hands through his hair. He cupped my cheeks and I could feel our noses rubbing together as our lips finally parted after about 8 short seconds.

"Well," he said interrupting the mood, "We better get back to the party before people start to notice us being gone, I mean afterall we didn't tell anyone we were leaving."

"You're right on that, thanks for taking me here Brett." I said jumping off the hood.

"You're welcome. Maybe we can come back one time in the summer and stay out here all night" he said eyes lit up and everything.

I smiled from ear to ear. "That'd be amazing."
