Chapter 28- Albuquerque

Chapter 28

 

As I walked along theFirstBeachwith Jacob I couldn’t help but think were my life has gone just a couple months ago; it feels like an eternity since I’ve been here. Jake and I walked hand in hand walking in sync along the shore

‘Remember when I first moved here and my dad introduced us to each other’ I said sighing at the memory

‘I remember because when I first seen you I couldn’t take my eyes off you’ he said grinning like an evil child.

‘Those were good times’ I said looking out to the sunset

Sitting down on the warm sand I gazed at the setting sun which just touched the water line. The sky was pink and orange they called it Twilight. It was quiet for awhile till I started hearing my phone ring

‘Hello?’ I asked

‘It’s Matt how you doing lynx?’ I heard Matt say and I couldn’t help but smile he was so awesome

‘Doing good man why you call?’ I asked him

‘Just letting you know if you want to get into the UFC and also go to theMMASchool. Applications are due in a couple days you can use your money that we gave you’ Matt said

I forgot about the money I have its still sitting in my underwear drawer forgetting to cash it in my college fund. I think I should follow my dreams and all that but I don’t know how to tell Jake about it.

‘Can you send me the application forms, and all the information you can give me? Then I’ll think about it’ I asked him feeling slightly pressured and pressured about all of this

‘No problem but just letting you know that Rick sent a few tapes of your fights to the head office’ he warned laughing through the phone

‘Thanks for the heads up but I just need to talk it over with some people than I’ll let you know later and if so I’ll get everything in by the due date’ I said

‘Talk to you later than lynx’ Matt said and hung up.

I looked at Jake and smiled wearily at him, he went from chill to worried

‘What’s going on?’ he asked putting an arm around me trying to sound cheery but you could see he was worried

‘Well when I ran back to Vancouver I did some fighting, my trainer Matt gave me $10, 000 dollars that I could use for moving back up there or what ever. Turns out it was money my dad was saving for me.’ I said taking a breathe looking at Jake for any signs to shut up but I continued on

‘So Matt just called me and basically told me I could sign up for the MMA School or whatever and get into the UFC and well…leave La Push for awhile’ I finished

Jacob didn’t respond right away I don’t even think he knew what to say, it did just come out of the blue. It became dark and I was surprised that he didn’t run or something like usual

‘How long …will… you be gone?’ he asked slowly looking up at me

‘I don’t know probably a year depending on if I get picked to be in UFC’ I shrugged putting my phone back into my pocket
