I started walking down the cobblestone driveway of my house, turned into the street and took a right turn.
I walked past the bakery, smelling delicious hot bread that distracted me and I began to salivate. I tried to avoid the eye of Mrs. Cogs as she always waved to me, and she would be likely to ask me "where I was going with all my luggage, dear?"
I ducked down while passing, straining my back so much I almost let out a groan, but contained myself, and thankfully, Mrs. Cogs didn't see me.
I came to the brick wall I knew very well. I tapped a pattern onto the bricks.
The bricks separated in front of me like a large door to a castle, shimmery light escaping and blinding me.
I stepped out into the humid air of the eerie forest that lay in front of me and shivered. It was cold, even through my winter coat.
I walked for about an hour, although I didn't know whether it was as I had no way of telling the time, and I came across a river moving, but not very fast.
Then my eyes rose up to meet a large tree, I didn't really know what type, I am net really good with trees. The roots were seperated revealing a wide piece of ground.
Perfect! I thought. I could rest here for the night as it was probably about dinner time at home. That reminded me of mum. She had probably seen I was gone and freaked out.
I still couldn't help feeling guilt in the pit of my stomach, lying to her for my chance of escape.
I set up my camp amongst the roots of the tree, laying out my blanket, pillow and book on the ground, and stacking my food in a hole in the tree, I knew I would have to protect and ration it out over the days as I didn't know how long I would have to stay here.
I sat down on my "bed" and grabbed a piece of paper and a pen out of my bag. I started to plan out how on earth I was going to find my grandma to take back my powers.
1. Live through the night.
2. Find out where Grandma lives.
3. Go to Grandma's house.
4. Try not to die on the way to her house.
5. Get her whatever she needs to perform the spell.
6. Get her to perform the spell to take back my powers.
7. Get back home through the portal.
8. Hope that everything back at home will go alright once I get back and mum yells at me.
Right, that should do it, I think.
Step one: live through the night.
I lay my head down onto my pillow and begin to drift off into a deep sleep.
My last thoughts are about my mum and Marshmallow. I miss them. I can't wait to get back home.....................
I wake up to a burningly bright light shining directly in my eyes. I sat up a rubbed my eyes, before looking around me. Nothing much had changed since I lay down last night. Then I remember the list.
I felt around for it and found it underneath me. I picked it up, stuffed it into my food cubby hole. I then picked up an oat muesli bar, broke it in two, took one half and started walking along the pathway beside the stream.
As I bit into the muesli bar I felt a flow honey flavour spread across my tongue. I hadn't realised how hungry I had been until now. the last time I ate was at breakfast yesterday, because I had left before lunch.
I continued to walk, thinking about things back home, how I was even going to begin this journey, and what could happen to stop me from getting my powers removed.
But then I heard a splash.
And a mew.
I looked over at the stream and my eyes nearly popped out of my head.
Dropping my muesli, I took a great big dive into the stream, feeling the ice cold water submerging my body as I reached my hands forward.
