There was once a time that I had considered Emelia one of my closest friends but then everything changed. Our father died, Max took over as Alpha and all of a sudden I had more responsibilities than ever and before I knew it, Emelia and I had drifted apart.
Everything had changed. I wasn’t seventeen anymore. Emelia wasn’t my best friend anymore. And she was hiding my sister-in-law’s murderer.
I seethed with rage as I threw her down on one of the cots in the cell. Jayden Paxton looked up at me from the corner.
“Who is she?” Jayden asked.
“A prisoner,” I answered, “just like you.”
“Why are you putting her with me then?” Jayden asked, “I thought I was supposed to be left alone.”
“It’s my decision which is none of your business.” I hissed. Jayden didn’t ask any more questions and I was thankful for that. I left the prison cell and started walking back upstairs to my room. I couldn’t believe how all our lives had turned upside down; Max didn’t have a mate anymore, Lily didn’t have a mother and Anna’s mate and husband was a murderer.
I had put Emelia with Jayden because I knew that Jayden wouldn’t harm Emelia in any way. I hated Emelia from the pit of my stomach but I didn’t want to harm her till I found out whether she was actually hiding any information.
And I knew exactly how I would find out.
I fished out my cell phone from my pocket and dialed his number.
“Hello?” I said.
“Hello, Liam,” the man replied, “how do you do?”
“Very well, Alpha,” I replied, “and you?”
“Very good,” He replied.
“I need your help, Alpha.”
“What help?” He asked.
“Perhaps, we should discuss this in person rather than over the phone but I will tell you this, it has to do something with the Luna’s death.”
“I am deeply upset over her death but I hope that won’t be affecting your plans with the Stone Pack?”
“Absolutely not! It was what she wanted and Max will do everything in his power to fulfill her last wish.” I told him.
“I’m glad to hear that,” he said, “I will be arriving tomorrow if that is okay with you and Alpha Max?”
“Of course,” I said, “thank you for your help.”
“It’s my pleasure.”
I hung up the phone and slipped it back into my pocket. It was a good thing that we were friends with an esprit wolf. Esprit wolves had more powers than regular wolves. They were incredibly good trackers, their sense of smell was more heightened, they were more powerful and they had other abilities as well. The ones I knew about were mind reading and healing but according to our father, esprit wolves had more abilities than a regular wolf could imagine.
According to our father, there were only seven known esprit wolves in the world. These were special powers that any wolf could be born with but for an alpha, these were very useful powers. It was what made their friend the most powerful alpha in the world. He was the only known alpha who was also an esprit wolf and his powers were beyond helpful.
