Regine Iman Thomas

I kissed him.

He relaxed into it. His lips were soft and felt amazing against mine. My hands reached up to hold his face as I broke the connection of our lips and kissed him again.

His hands slid up my arms and stopped at my elbows. He roughly pushed me away and glared at me.

"What the fuck is wrong with you Reggie?" he asked me. I looked away in embarrassment. I had just made a fool out of myself and possibly made things ten times more difficult for him to feel comfortable with me.

He probably thought my intentions were all wrong now. I knew he didnt have any interest me. Now he probably thought all of this was a plan to make a move on him.

It wasn't.

I really cared about helping him. I just also happened to have a crush on him simultaneously. It was annoying.

I had never liked a guy before the way I liked him. I had no idea why I was developing feelings for him. As he said, I barely know him at all.

"I'm sorry" I mumbled. I really wasnt sorry. Those were probably the best few seconds of my life, which was actually very sad.

He chuckled. "I swear you gotta be stupid" he shook his head and grabbed his keys. He left without saying a word. I was left standing in my room doorway, feeling like he said..stupid.

I most definitely was.

I was stupid enough to think that he'd want me.

I closed my door and sat on my bed. I decided to thrust myself into work so I wouldnt think about what happened.

After an hour of editing photos, my phone started to ring. It was Shameik.

"What?" I answered.

"Thats an amazing greeting. Hello to you too Reggie" he chuckled.

"What do you want?" I asked him. I wasnt in the mood for him to crack jokes. His jokes were always stale anyway.

"I'm bored. Come chill with me" he said. We weren't exactly still on bad terms but we weren't exactly on good terms either.

Either way I was not going to his house.

"I'm not coming over there. If you want to hang, it has to be in public" I let him know.
