I was watching the game, pushed. 24-7. Damn. I watched as Tom threw a pass to Julian for the first. Julian caught it, and I heard
I saw Julian motionless on my ground. My eyes widened, and a pair of coaches ran to his aid. They picked him up, and he was brought to the locker room.
I ran after the coaches, and no one tried to stop me from entering the locker room. Everyone knew not to mess with me when it came to my boys. They laid Julian down on the hospital bed, and they did a concussion check. They exited, and I went up to Julian.
"Hey Jules," I said.
"Hi Alex," he said, grinning goofily.
"How's your head?" I asked.
"Good. I'm a little sore, but good," he shrugged.
"You really had me nervous," I said, shaking my head. "Why did I have to fall for a football player?"
"Well I'm glad you care that much about me. As for why you fell for a football player, I have no idea. Hmmm. Maybe because...he's pretty!" Julian exclaimed. I giggled girlishly.
"That's a pretty good reasoning," I said, nodding.
"I know," Julian stated matter-of-factly.
"Are you gonna go out next drive?" I asked him. He shrugged.
"EDELMAN, YOU'RE ALL CLEARED!" someone yelled. I looked at Julian and grinned.
"Go get 'em Jules," I said, clapping him on the back as he went out. I followed, and the rest of the game went pretty well. We scored a few times and ended up winning on a genius play call by Bill. Almost immediately after the game, the guys went to their press conference. Then Rob came out of the locker room and I took his hand, and we walked to the car. I remained quiet the whole drive, pondering everything Julian had said to me on Monday night. When we got home, I basically got in my pajamas and went immediately to bed. Rob soon followed. I still remained quiet. Neither of us spoke for about ten minutes.
"What's up?" he asked, breaking the silence.
"Why'd I have to fall for a football player?" I asked.
"Um...I honestly have no idea," he admitted. I laughed.
"Yeah. Me neither," I sighed, running a hand through my blue hair. Ooh, blue hair, that reminded me. "Oh, I forgot to tell you. Guess who's number I got?"
"Oh great," Rob said sarcastically. "Those are the words every guy wants to hear out of his girlfriend's mouth. Right after 'I'm pregnant,' and 'I'm leaving,'."
I flailed my arm backwards and I hit him, and I could tell he smiled.
"No, in all seriousness, guess."
"I don't know. Who?" he asked.
"Cam Newton," I said, grinning. "He thought I was really smart."
"Alright then. So are you all packed for the trip to Texas on Wednesday?" Rob asked. I looked down.
"I'm not going," I said quietly.
"And why not?!" he exclaimed.
"Because...Rob....Gosh I don't know how to say this. Rob...I'm...I'm pregnant and leaving you." I burst out into a fit of laughter. "Just kidding. But I'm not going."
"Why not?" he pouted.
"I'm just not, alright?" I said.
"Fine. But I'll miss you the whole time," Rob said.
"Oh gosh. Please tell me we haven't turned into that couple?" I sighed exasperatedly.
"No. We haven't, don't worry. So what was up with that walk with Julian? Was something wrong?" he asked. I shook my head.
"I'll tell you in the morning. I love you. Goodnight."
"Goodnight Ms. Stone."
"Goodnight Alex, I love you."
