“Carter you wound me! I thought we had something special!”
I scoffed in his direction, rolling my eyes.
“Oh Mr. Malik, you must be imagining things if that’s what you think. Are you feeling ill? Do you have a fever?” I asked sarcastically, stepping forward and pressing my hand to his forehead for dramatic effect. His eyes fluttered shut.
“Oh Carter your touch drives me wild.” He said teasingly.
“Is that so?” I asked in a husky voice, trailing my index finger down the side of his face.
Zayn’s eyes shot open and he looked at me in shock.
“Well if you like my touch then…” I paused for a moment before smacking his cheek with the palm of my hand, making him jump. “You’re a pig.” I added brusquely before brushing past him towards another table.
I heard him laughing behind me and I grinned too. Zayn and his friend Louis have been coming into the restaurant at least twice a week for the past month or so. Louis is a funny guy, head over heels for Emma who is completely oblivious. Zayn though, now Zayn is a whole other story.
The first time they came in, he immediately started to flirt with me. Why, I’ll never know. But nonetheless, he is constantly asking for my number or to take me to dinner. I always reply with a sarcastic comment, or insult him in some way to try and get him to give up the chase, but it never works.
Zayn is an attractive guy, and I mean a really attractive guy, with dark skin, caramel colored eyes, and perfect hair, but I don’t date. Yet he just won’t take the hint. The only perk to his fondness of me is that it used to piss Amy off that he rarely gave her skanky ass any attention, but wouldn’t leave me alone.
“So where is your partner in crime?” I asked Zayn, glancing over my shoulder at him.
“Oh he’s at the counter talking to Emma.” He replied as if it were obvious. “Ten bucks says he finally asks her out today.”
I laughed loudly, turning back to him.
“Ten bucks? You’re on. That pansy will never grow a pair.”
Zayn held his hand out for me to shake, his grin a little bit too big.
“C’mon. Shake on it. Unless you wanna seal the bet another way?” He asked in a cheeky tone, puckering his lips at me.
I rolled my eyes and laughed, taking his hand and shaking it firmly.
“Nice try, slick.” I muttered. “Now go get your little boyfriend and sit down, you’re bugging me.”
Zayn just chuckled and said something under his breath I didn’t catch, calling Louis away from Emma and walking towards their usual table.
I glanced over and saw Louis look up and away from Emma, an annoyed expression on his face. He had been leaning on the counter trying to put on a suave act for the dark haired girl who was laughing at him.
He managed to tear himself away from Emma, walking towards me as I smirked at him.
“You ask her out yet?” I asked teasingly.
“Oh shutup Carter.”
I snickered at Louis’ grumbly attitude, following him to their table. I managed to get their drink and food orders with only a couple snide remarks, ignoring Zayn’s cheeky catcalls as I walked back into the kitchen. I flipped him the bird in return which made Louis burst into yet another laughing fit.
“You going to take Zayn up on his offer today?” Emma asked the second I stepped into the kitchen.
“Are you finally going to put Louis out of his misery today?” I snapped back.
