I watched the others slowly drift off to sleep. I knew Perrie wasn't asleep and probably wouldn't be for a long while. She lay next to me, curled up in her duvet, breathing softly.
Liam wasn't asleep. He had been turning to much about ten minutes ago but he still hadn't drifted off. I could kinda feel it, almost. Or maybe that's just me being weird.
After twenty more minutes Liam was definitely asleep. I unwrapped myself from my duvet and sat up slightly.
"Perrie?" I whispered softly. Her gorgeous blue eyes fluttered open. For the first time that night I saw glistening tear stains streaked down her pale cheeks.
"Come here," I said as she obeyed and shuffled closer until completely enveloped in my arms. She sobbed quietly into my chest for a few minutes before leaning her head back and resting her head on my arm.
"I'm sorry I'm such a mess and that I'm probably just annoying but I just wanted to say thanks for helping me through all of this and-"
"Hey, hey," I cooed as she gulped into a fresh set of silent tears, "It's ok, you're not annoying! Why d'you think that? Actually, I think you're extremely beautiful."
SHIT. What did I just say?!
Her face cracked into a genuine smile as she glanced up at me.
"You're kinda beautiful too."
I kissed her temple as she snuggled into my arms, and like that we fell into blissful sleep.
I woke up to brilliant sunlight streaking in through the blinds. Groaning in irritation I stumbled from the floor to fix them. On my way back I checked the time on the oven clock.
10:30. Well, thank the lord my Mum and sisters have gone to grandma's. If they came downstairs at ten thirty in the morning to find eight people sprawled across the living room floor I do not think they would be happy.
I sighed and walked groggily to the kitchen.
Rummaging through the drawers I began humming until I found a pan and a metal spatula. I winced everytime I made a loud noise, which was just weird considering what I was about to do.
"WAKEY, WAKEY!" I screamed walking through the living room, stepping cautiously over numerous bodies. I slammed the spoon and pan together mercilessly and I continued screaming round the living room. Harry and Perrie lept up at the first word, Perrie holding her head to her heart.
"Don't you ever do that to me again, Louis..." She struggled for a surname.
"TOMLINSON!" I continued my screaming. Zayn sat up groggily. As soon as he had spied me with a spoon and a frying pan, he groaned and flopped back down again, piling pillows on his face.
Perrie giggled slightly at Zayn's lazy attempt to get up. The others were soon up and making breakfast. Zayn had just come back from the bathroom (every hair in place) and sat himself next to Perrie by the island. She pulled out and ear bud from her iPod and offered it to him.
I swear they were the cutest thing sitting there bopping childishly to music together. I left the kitchen, seeing as I couldn't cook and would probably set the kitchen on fire with my presence alone, and hunted round for Harry who didn't seem to be in the kitchen or the living room.
I found him in the garden, toying with a flower with his nimble fingers. He seemed completely entranced by the tulip in question, and didn't hear me coming up behind him.
"Having fun, Haz?" He turned round and stumbled back in shock before speaking for the first time.
"Haz?" I blushed.
"Oops, sorry. It's a nickname, it just kinda slipped..."
"I like it," he mumbled shyly. I grinned widely.
"Good. Come on, Haz, let's go inside. Do you want some breakfast?" Harry just looked downright confused.
"What's breakfast?" I swear my mouth hit the floor. The poor boy didn't know what breakfast was. He had to. Didnt' he?
"Breakfast? You know, like the meal at the start of the day, cereal, toast..." He just shook his head with a blank expression on his face.
"Alrighty then," I said, swiftly taking his hand in mine and leading him indoors. He looked back at the flower longingly. Clocking this expression, I released him hand and walked back, scooping up the flower and giving it to him.
His whole face seemed to light up and it almost felt like everything around us and within me just got that bit brighter. I couldn't help but smile.
As we entered my kitchen I filled a tall glass with water and placed it on the table in front of him, explaining that the flower wouldn't wilt if he put it in the water. He seemed to understand this, and plopped it in quite merrily. There he sat watching it sway in wonder as I attempted to follow Liam's orders on how to make pancakes.
It did not go well.
In the end Liam had to save me. The batter wasn't too bad but every fifth minute one half of a pancake was on the floor so I left the flipping to Liam. Harry watched in awe.
"Hey, Haz! Wanna go?" I beckoned him over. He seemed genuinely shocked but gingerly came over. I gave him the frying pan and told him to kinda flick is wrist upwards. He did so, the pancake landing effortlessly expertly in the pan.
Liam burst out laughing when my jaw hit the ground. I must've stood there staring at Harry for sometime because the others seemed to be getting rather worried.
"Nope, I'm fine. That was the last one." I said quickly, packing all the stuff away and placing a large steaming pile of pancakes on the table.
Well they were gone pretty quickly.
"Right, we need to sort something out." Liam said, pushing his plate away and leaning on the table.
"We've established that these people, whoever they may be, might know where Perrie lives so it would be dangerous to take her home." Sensing the seriousness in this conversation, everyone began clearing away the plates but I said:
"Forget the plates, lets just go to the living room." We camped on the mattresses in a circle listening to Liam.
"She can't stay here forever."
"What's she gonna do then?" Jesy asked, "I mean I'd be happy for her to stay with me for however long but yeah." Everyone nodded in agreement.
"Or I could just go back," Perrie mumbled. Harry gasped.
"No..." I looked at Harry who seemed to have started shaking slightly. I didn't have a clue what was going on so I pulled him into a tight hug.
"What do you mean?" Zayn pulled away from their embrace to look at Perrie properly. Perrie gulped.
"Look we don't want to force you into anything Perrie but-"
"No, no. It's ok. I wanna say." She took a deep breath.
"Those men were coming after me for a reason. It was a proper reason and not just a stupid 'we want a plaything' reason. I had escaped from somewhere, and the owner undoubtedly wanted me back." She glanced at Jade who seemed to suddenly get what was going on and stared at her like she was mad.
Perrie gulped again.
"I'm a hybrid."
