His word's kept replaying in my head over and over again. You don't deserve to be alpha....Backstabbing great grandfather.....Ask your dad. That was exactly what I was going to do. I'm going to find out what the hell is going on. It's pathetic, an alpha not knowing what was going on in his own pack. I had some questions and the old man better start talking.
I shifted back to human when I reached the side of my dad's house. There was a storage with extra clothes in case yours ripped when you shifted. I pulled on a pair of jeans shorts and went around front not bothering with a shirt. When I opened the door I found my parents cuddling on the sofa watching a movie. I walked over to them and stood in front of the television.
"Hi honey, come to see your beloved mother?" Me mom chirped.
"Sorry mom,but I need to talk to dad. It's important." I folded my arms over my chest and stood in a manner saying that I wasn't taking no for an answer.
"Okay son, let's go into my office." He kissed mom on the side of head and got up.
I followed him into his office. It was sound proof so mom couldn't hear what we were about to say. "Okay son, so what is so important that you had to cut my cuddle time with your mom?"
I ignored that last bit and cut straight to the chase. "Why didn't you tell me Ethan had alpha blood? How does he even have alpha blood?" I asked my arms still crossed over my chest. I glared at him intently daring him to lie.
His mouth hung open a second before he snapped it shut and composed himself. "What are you talking about?"
"Don't play with me. Right now I am talking to you as the alpha of this pack and I deserve a right to know. According to Ethan 'I don't deserve to be alpha'. Explain." I stared him down. He may be my dad but I'm his alpha.
He sighed and sat motioning for me to do the same. "It's because...because Ethan was suppose to be alpha."
"What are you talking about? I'm your only son. It's rightfully mine." I asked confused.
"The Meyers family was originally the alpha bloodline."
"What are you talking about?" I was getting frustrated. I wanted answers now.
"It's not something that our family is proud of." He lowered his head in shame.
"I need to know. How am I suppose to run a pack when you don't tell me what's been going on." I pleaded.
"It's not what's been going on, it's what has happened already." He looked up, his eyes suddenly held the weight of the world. Could it be that bad? "It happened about 90 years ago.Your great-great-grandfather and Ethan's were best friends. They were as close as brothers. But no matter how close they were....it still wasn't enough."
I looked at him puzzled."What do you mean?"
"I think you should see for yourself." He got up and searched in his cabinet for something. I watched him intently, wondering what he was up to. He pulled out a dusty bottle with white powder in it. Before I could ask what it was he spoke. "This a a witch's time dust.It allows you to see past events in your dreams but only if you are meant to. You know if you are meant to know what happened in a few minutes."
I looked at him warily but nodded my head none the less.
We headed up to my room and he told me to lie down. "Close your eyes and relax. Let your mind drift off into the unconscious." I did as I was told and felt something like powder cover my skin. I felt myself being pulled under and I allowed it.
