"Spence! Spencer, baby wake up!" I slowly opened my eyes and was met with dark chocolate ones.
"Camila, my head hurts." I grabbed my head because of the throbbing pain.
"Oh sweetie, come here." She reached her arms out and grabbed my tiny waist, lifting me up so I was resting on her hip. "We just landed and it's about an hour ride home, okay?" I nodded nuzzling my head in her neck trying to keep out the light.
I looked down at Spencer and I felt so bad. She was so pale and clammy. Her head was resting on my shoulder while we walked off the plane. Since we had a private one the ride was faster then normal and luckily Spencer was out for the whole thing. I was the last to walk off and the girls were all waiting for Spencer and I.
"Mila is she okay?" Ally rushed over and noticed how pale she looked. "I don't know she said her head hurt when she woke up." I explained combing my fingers through her hair.
"She really doesn't look good." Dinah said while grabbing my carry-on along with hers.
"I know, what should we do? I'm worried about her." I looked over at Ally and she shared the same worried face.
"Maybe take her to the hospital before we go home. Its not like she is going to stay there forever but maybe just for the night. I don't want anything to happen to her. Is that okay with everyone?" Ally asked around and everyone nodded except for Lauren. She was already walking away towards the gate to go home.
"I swear when we get back I'm giving Lauren a piece of my mind." I mumbled to myself as we all walked to the gate. I looked down at Spencer and she had fallen asleep again in my arms. But she was getting worse by the minute. I took the back of my hand and placed it on her forehead feeling for a fever.
"Guys, Spence is really warm. She really doesn't look good." We all gained speed to try and reach the cars so we could take her to the hospital without anything worse happening.
"So one car is going to the hospital while the other is going home. Who wants what?" Big Rob said looking at us. We had two cars but they had only so many seats we all couldn't fit in one. "I say Ally and Camila go to the hospital and get her all checked in while the rest of us go home and unpack and get everything ready for her." Dinah says.
"I agree with Dinah. Ally, Camila you're coming with me." Big Rob moves us into the car without another word. Ally sits beside Big Rob in the front while Spence and I are in the back.
"You okay back there Mila?" Ally asked while looking back. "Yeah we're okay." I smiled then looked back down at Spencer.
"Don't worry baby, everything is going to be fine. I promise." I whispered in her ear and placed a small kiss on her forehead.
"You have really gotten close to her haven't you?" Big Rob asked and I shook my head in agreement. "I don't know what it is about her but I know I want to protect her." I smiled and brought her closer to me.
"Well, remember she isn't ours forever, once she is better she has to go back home." Ally said looking at me in the rear view mirror. "I know, so we have to spend all this time together now and enjoy every minute of it." It pains me to know that she could leave at any minute. I want to take care of her forever.
I looked out the window and the sun was starting to set. "Are we almost there?" I asked getting more impatient by the minute. "Yeah, about five more minutes."
I felt Spencer start to move in my arms and start shaking. Was she cold?
"Hey baby, you awake?" She moved again and she mumbled something into my shoulder. I slowly turned her head so I could see her face.
"You okay?" I tucked some hair behind her ears and her eyes fluttered open and her piecing green eyes met mine and I couldn't help but smile."There's the beautiful green eyes I've been missing." My heart sunk when she didn't return the smile.
"My head hurts and I'm really cold." She said barely above a whisper. Her voice sounded so broken and weak. "I know baby, we're almost there. Just close your eyes." In that moment she started shaking again. I pulled off my sweater and lifted her slowly so I could place the sweater over her head. I pulled it over and guided her arms through the sleeves. It hung off her body as she snuggled into it. At least she was a little warmer. We were coming up to the hospital parking lot. Our team had called earlier and we got our Doctor to book us an appointment in advance. We just need to fill out some paper work while she gets checked out.
"Alright, we're here. You guys ready?" Ally asked while undoing her seatbelt.
"Yeah we're all set." I undid my seatbelt and shifted Spencer so Big Rob could carry her out.
"Here, Camila I got her." Big Rob opened the door and reached his hands out for me to pass her over. He grabbed her tiny body and headed for the doors.
"She will be fine Mila, she just needs to be checked out." I looked over and Ally was giving me a reassuring smile while rubbing my back.
"Thanks Ally. I just wish I could be with her." As we headed in behind Big Rob I noticed Spencer's head lift up taking in her surroundings.
"Camila?" She was looking around for me and tears filled her eyes.
I quickly ran over, "hey baby, I'm here! I'm right here Spence." I smiled stroking her hair.
"Where are we going?" She looked straight into my eyes. "We're in the hospital baby, you need to get checked out." All four of us reached the desk and a young girl was siting down waiting for us.
"Hi, we're here to see Doctor Collins." Ally told the lady. "Yes just one second let me call him." She smiled and picked up the phone. "Thanks love."
"Rob can I hold on to her for a quick second?" I asked looking at how nervous Spencer seemed.
"Of course, here." He reached out and placed her in my arms. "Hi princess." She looked up at me and gave me the weakest smile. "Hi Cam." She looked down at the sweater and back at me. "I like your sweater." I couldn't help but laugh. "How about this. You can keep it if you make me a promise." She nodded her head slowly. "Promise me you will be brave and tell the doctor everything he needs to know. Promise?" I lifted my pinky finger up and she gladly linked them together. "Promise."
"I know this is going to be scary and I can't come in with you so I want you to be brave." I gently took her hands in mine. "I'll be right here waiting for you." I kissed her forehead and let it linger there for a minute.
"Spencer Johnson?" I looked up and a tall young man was waiting with a clipboard in one hand while a few nurses had a gurney waiting for Spencer.
"Yes that's us." I gave a small smile and looked at Spencer one last time.
"Don't be scared. I won't let anything bad happen to you." This time she looked at me with terrified eyes. She let out a shaky breath "Promise?"
"With all my heart." Before she could say anything one of the nurses took her out my arms and placed her on the gurney. I watched as they wheeled her down the hallway and disappear around the corner.
