Chapter Thirty Nine
I heard a knock on the door and Damon paused the show. I stood up walking over to the door and opening it. My eyes widened at the sight of Ace.
"What are you doing here?" I asked. He smiled. He was trying to get me back.
"Please let me in," he asked. I moved to the side so that he could come in. I wanted to hear what he had to say. The only problem, was that I was still in love with him.
He sat on the couch and I sat on the bed next to Damon. He must have felt awkward. He threw a little piece of paper at my face, but I caught it unlike when we first met. I opened it to find it say "Hey, I'm Ace," and it made me smile. Another came and it said "You can call me babe if you want," I smiled again. He threw another and it read "But please let me call you mine," I was about ready to cave, but I held strong. I looked up at him and he pulled out a guitar with pictures of us collaged together. I was ready to jump on him, but he started paying it.
"I drove by all the places you used to hang out getting getting wasted, I thought about our last kiss how it felt the way you tasted, and even though your friends told me you're doin fine, are you somewhere feeling lonely even though he's right beside you, when he says those words that hurt you, do you read the ones I wrote you" he began while looking up at me.
I was smiling and looking into his eyes. He smiled back and continued the song until it was over. He set the guitar in it's case and got down on one knee. I looked at the ring and it wasn't the one that I threw into the pool. It was made from guitar strings.
"Violet, will you forgive me, and be my bride?" he asked nervousness coating his words. I hesitated for a moment, but nodded slightly. Damon stood up and left while he pulled me into a kiss and I couldn't help but kiss back. I missed that feeling so much.
"Damon kissed me while we were broken up," I said after I pulled away.
"I figured that he would. He is in love with you and all," he said.
"What am I going to do about him?" I asked while leaning on his shoulder.
"People fall in love with their best friends all the time. Just hope that you can still be friends," he said and I nodded.
"Is that guitar for me?" I asked and he nodded. I smiled and kissed him again. I couldn't see Ace playing something so sentimental unless it was for me, the sentimental type.
"I'm sorry I threw your ring in the pool," I said. It was a bit dramatic.
"I deserved it," he stated.
"Promise me you will never do that to me again. I can't handle another heartbreak Ace," I said.
"I won't ever," he said. He placed the ring on my finger and I smiled.
