Cell Structure

There are 4 main types of cells Animal, Plant, Bacteria and fungal. Each cell has its own specialized organelles which keep it alive.

Here we have each cell and its different organelles and the organelles function-

Animal cell

Organelles and functions-

Nucleus which controls the cells activities and contains genetic information

Cell membrane controls the entry and exit of materials in and out of the cell

Cytoplasm is the site of chemical reactions

Mitochondria is the site of aerobic respiration

Ribosome is the site of protein-synthesis

Centriole is involved in the production of spindle fibres during mitosis and meiosis.

plant cell

Organelles and functions-

Nucleus which controls the cells activities and contains genetic information

Cell membrane controls the entry and exit of materials in and out of the cell

Cytoplasm is the site of chemical reactions

Mitochondrion is the site of aerobic respiration

Cell wall is composed of cellulose, fully permeable, provides support and shap.

Chloroplasts contains chlorophyll and is the site of photo synthesis

Permanent Vacuole contains a solution of salt and sugars (cell sap)

Bacteria cell

Organelles and functions-

Cell membrane controls the entry and exit of materials in and out of the cell

Cytoplasm site of chemical reactions

Ribosome site of protein-synthesis

Cell wall Provides support and structure for bacteria cell and is made of a different material

Chromosome contains genome

Plasmids are circular pieces of DNA.

Flagellum is attached to the outside of a bacterial cell and allows the cell to move.

Fungal cell

Organelles and functions-

Nucleus which controls the cells activities and contains genetic information

Cytoplasm site of chemical reactions.

Cell membrane controls the entry and exit of materials in and out the cell.

Mitochondria site of aerobic respiration

Vacuole which is different from a plant cells vacuole.

cell wall is made from a different substance from both plant and bacteria cells.
