Philip Michael Lester was nervous, but he wanted to look confident. Dan seemed like a really nice person, so why not talk to him? However, after that last goodbye, he wasn't really sure if he was a friend. Was Dan still a stranger? Phil didn't really know why, but there was something about that brown-eyed boy that made him talk to him. Maybe it was just something random, maybe Phil won't even see him again. Or perhaps, there was a chance of seeing Dan again.
When Phil bought the Polaroid camera, he took a photo of himself smiling, just to remember that day. Before they said goodbye, he got the photo out of his black jeans and put it in Dan's jacket's pocket without him realizing. Phil wondered if Dan would be happily surprised or terrified when he notices he has something in his pocket he didn't even know was there.
Phil saw how Dan walking away and wondered, if he would see him again. He hoped the picture he got inside Dan's pocket would make them meet again.
When Phil was back in his flat, he went to his bedroom and jumped from the floor to the bed. He got the picture he took with Dan out of his pocket and smiled.
It was a day Phil would never forget.
