The group of friends all jumped up in excitement, and most of them were screaming with joy.
"Can we go see him?" Theodosia asked, grabbing Alexander by the shoulders. He nodded, and she raced up the stairs, her heart pounding. Everyone else began to climb up the stars, smiles covering all their faces.
"Hello, I'm Dr. Hosack, you guys can sit right over there." The doctor pointed to a row of chairs, and they all went to sit down.
"It's been a long day," John said, stroking Alexander's hair has he rested his head on John's shoulder.
"Yeah," Alexander mumbled.
"Do you want to go home? You seem exhausted."
"No, let's wait until Theodosia comes and tells us how he's doing." John nodded, and they sat there and waited. After at least fifteen minutes, Theodosia walked out of the room, a grin on her face.
"Hey guys, Aaron's doing fine. He fell asleep when I was about to leave, so I think it's best if we all went home. We can visit for the rest of the week, though." The friends all nodded in agreement, as they had been in the hospital for almost the whole day. John took Alexander's hand into his own, and they walked down the stairs, happy that their friend was okay.
"James, you don't need to drive us home, we can walk," Alexander said as they stepped out into the night.
"Are you sure? 'Cause I could totally drive you guys." James said, a concerned expression on his face.
"No, it's fine. See you tomorrow in debate!" The friends waved goodbye, then went on their separate ways.
"Why'd you want to walk?" John asked, wrapping his arm around Alexander's shoulders.
"I don't know, I wanted to spend time with you."
"You're so cheesy."
"I love you, though."
"I love you too."
"Am I enough?" Alexander stopped walking, his heart pounding loudly.
"Of course you are, John."
"John, all you have to do is let me inside your heart and let me love you. You don't have to buy me things or be with all the time. All I want is to do is cherish you and make you happy. Al I want is for you to feel the same way about me, John. That would be enough." Alexander wrapped his arms around John's body, his heart pounding. John lifted his chin up and kissed him on the lips, the kiss filled with love and happiness.
"You're so romantic," John said, a big grin on his face.
"Well, I am reliable with getting people to fall in love with me."
"Yeah right, you big dork."
"Hey, it worked on you." The couple laughed and finally made it back to their dorm room. Alexander quietly slipped into John's bed, hiding under the sheets. John raised his eyebrow, and made his way over to the edge of the bed, and fell on top of Alexander.
"Wow, this pillow is so comfy." Alexander laughed, trying to get John off of him.
"Oh my god, the pillow talks too? This is pure genius!" Alexander finally managed to shove John off of him, his laughs filling the room.
