Dan and I have been growing distant lately, and I don't really know why. I'm starting to worry about him because of this. It also seems that Phil has been growing apart from Karen as well. We're both starting to worry.
I woke up and walked out into the kitchen, where Karen was making a pot of coffee. She tossed me the package of crumpets and I popped two into the toaster for us. The coffee maker beeped and she poured two cups for us, in matching F/C mugs. Once we finished making our breakfast, we both walked into the lounge to eat. I turned the TV on and found an episode of F/S for us to watch. After that was over we cleaned up our mess and I headed over to go to my room. Just as I turned my back, I heard Karen say "Y/N? Can I talk to you about something when you get a chance?"
I nodded and went back to my room. After getting dressed, I walked back into the lounge to see Karen still sitting on the couch in her pajamas, just staring at the wall. "Hey are you alright? What did you need to talk about?" I asked.
She looked at me sadly. "I'm getting worried Y/N. Phil is becoming distant, and I'm sure you've noticed it in Dan as well. I'm probably just paranoid, but what if he's going to break up with me?" she started so cry just a little bit.
I put my arm around her to comfort her. "No way. Phil would never do that to anyone without a reason. And I don't think anything will happen Karen. But if it does and one or both of us gets broken up with, we'll go shopping for breakup clothes together."
she sniffled. "Okay."
I smiled. "And we'll go wear them and look wonderful and parade it right in front of their faces to show them what they gave up on. Because if that really is the case, they're not worth any tear we cry over them."
"Y/N," Karen asked. "Why are you taking this so strongly? Do you still love Dan?"
I scoffed. "Of course I still love Dan," I told her. "But if he's going to break up with me for no reason I'm not going to waste my tears and cereal on it! If any guy ever does that to you, he's not worth anything."
She smiled through her tears. "Thanks Y/N. But what do you think we should do about this? Should we say anything to them?"
"No. Not yet at least. Now why don't we do something? If you want we can invite the boys, or we can just go by ourselves," I said, cheering her up a bit.
"Why don't we go with just us," she suggested. "We can get a head start on those breakup clothes."
"Oh shut up," I said, pushing her. "Nothing is going to happen Karen. Everything is completely fine."
So we both got dressed and headed out into London for a friends day. First stop: coffee. We headed into the new little coffee shop around the corner and ordered. I got a F/D, while Karen got a raspberry iced coffee.
We then headed over to a fancy store to get new formal dresses/tuxedos, because the old ones from when we first moved to London are starting to wear. Karen immediately picked up a summery yellow dress/ blue suit and handed it to me. I pushed it back to her and she shook her head. "No thanks. I don't do bright colors," she said, putting it back on the rack. After looking for a little while I came across a short black strapless dress with a mint green skirt (for guys you can imagine any kind of formal wear. I'd put some examples but I have no clue what is nice or not).
I put it in my hand and looked some more. I also came across a light blue dress with a white lace covering the top.
I took that one out as well and went to go fine Karen. I held up both dresses and she whistled. "Now I can make a color exception for those," she said, and we both laughed. I ended up picking the [Mint Green/Blue] dress for Karen, and grabbed the other/held up my suit. We found our sizes and bought them, heading on to our next stop of our day of fun. We finally decided to pop into Tesco for our last stop, because we were getting dangerously low on food. I was walking with Karen down the cereal aisle when suddenly Karen grabbed me and speed walked out of the aisle. "Where are we going?" I whined. "We still need cereal you know."
"Well we can live without it for a while. Just trust me you don't want to go down that aisle."
"Okay I trust you."
We had finally made it to the till and went to pay when suddenly I heard Karen groan. I continued scanning the items and started to daydream when I felt someone tap my shoulder. Assuming it was Karen, I didn't look up. Then a strange voice brought me back to reality.
"Hello again Y/N."
