Laying on the bed, you stare up at the ceiling, bored out of your mind.  So many questions ran through your head as you laid there, but when you thought about them, your head throbbed in pain.  Your whole body was freezing, and you were sore.

Footsteps began to fill your ears.  Then a gasp and something light fell to the ground.

"Y-your awake!" a small voice said, making you look to see a reptilian.  She wore glasses on her yellow skin, a lab coat draped over her shoulders.

You nod, trying to sit up, but the pain in your arms made you fall back.  The woman rushed over to you, helping you sit up properly.  Groaning lowly, you spread your feathered wings, holding your arm in pain.

"Oh, dear.  Here, you can eat these.  I'll get some tools and call for help."  The reptilian gave you an opened bag, running out of the room.

Looking closely, you read the name of the object.  Popato Chisps.  Shrugging, you pick up a chisp on the inside, placing it in your mouth and chewing it. They tasted fine to you, but a bit bland still.

Chisp after chisp, you kept eating one by one....until they were gone. Thirst invaded your mouth, making you swallow multiple times. Then, you heard voices in the other room.

It was that reptilian and another voice. That's when a question evaded your mind. Who was that woman? Why was she surprised that you were awake?

Then, the voices came closer, along with footsteps.

"Thanks for coming as fast as you did. I really appreciate it," the soft voice said.

A chuckle emitted. "Well, it's, kind of, what I do." The voice was slightly deep, but not too deep.

Then, they came from the door, looking up to meet your gaze. The other voice was a skeleton. He looked at you with a watchful gaze.

"Who are you? Why am I here?" you ask, growling and holding your left arm as you tried to move it. Pain engulfed the appendage.

The skeleton looked at you for another moment, turning to the other with confusion.

She looked concerned. "(Y/N), it's Alphys, your friend."

Shaking your head, you try to get up, but couldn't bend your legs. It made you panic even more, causing tears to line your eyes. The skeleton walked up to you, sitting close to you. He reached his hands up to your face, making you pant in fear. Still, he touched your muzzle before covering your eyes with his boney hands.

"Don't panic, please. We'll get you moving in a bit. Now, when I move my hands, you're going to do as Dr Alphys says, capeesh?"

Shakily, you breathe in and out to calm yourself.  "Okay."

You felt the bones move from your face, and you met those eye sockets.  His grin kept you calm as you heard the other, Alphys, step up to you. Looking to her, you felt the bed moved, making you turn back to him. He kept smiling, but you reached for his hand.

"Can I-?"

He laughed, sitting back on the bed and holding your hand. "Knock yourself out. By the way, I'm sure we'll be seeing each other a lot. Call me Sans."

Nodding, you open your mouth to say your name, but drew a blank.  Almost as if you didn't have a name.

"A-alright, (Y/N)," Alphys said, making you look away from Sans.  She smiled kindly at you.  "I'm going to look at your left arm, so there's g-going to be some discomfort."

Just as she says that, she pulls your arm up.  You hiss in pain as she bends it, and you notice that she pulled out two pieces of wooden planks to act as splints.  She then began to wrap it up, and you just turned your gaze to the smiling skeleton, making you realize you were squeezing his hand.

Sans just shrugged, squeezing your hand in return.  "Just relax.  You're doing fine.  Alphys is almost done with the splints to keep your arm safe."

You take a deep breath, nodding.  "Okay.  Do you mind if I ask you something?"

"Ask away.  I may not know it, though," he said, looking between you and your arm.

Sighing, you felt a shock run through you.  When you heard and felt Alphys move away from your arm, you looked between them.  Then, once you saw the doctor settle, you look back to Sans.  "Who am I?"

The skeleton let go of your hand, making you scared. You watched him look to Alphys, then met your (e/c) eyes.

"Sans, will you w-wait outside?" the reptilian asked, walking up to you.

Fear enveloped your mind as he walked away. He gave you a thumbs up, walking off again. You shook lightly, looking up at the doctor. She has a clipboard in hand, a pen ready to write. She sat on the bed, patting your hand lightly.

"What do you remember?"

Closing your eyes, you try to think of the last thing you could remember. "I remember waking up this morning, not knowing where I was or who I was, but I didn't think about it. Not until Sans said his name did it hit me. I-I couldn't remember my name.

"What's wrong with me?"

Alphys wrote some things on her clipboard, then froze. She slowly looked up, meeting your eyes. "You have amnesia." Quickly, she ran in Sans' direction, pulling him back into the room.

You instantly brightened at the sight of him, reaching your hand out to him. He chuckled at you, but walked over to you, holding your hand in his boney one.

"Sh-show her the power."

You give the doctor a weird look, looking back to Sans as he closes his eyes.  Then, he opened his eyes, his right eye socket being blank while his left was glowing blue with a small aura coming off of his pupil.  His free hand was glowing as a weird object hovered above him.

"That's a Gaster Blaster," he stated, reading your thoughts.  His eye sockets changed back as he shrugged it off, sitting by you.  "Alphys told me you could do what I could."

Shrugging, you look to Alphys, seeing her nod.  "I-it's true, (Y/N)."  She looked to your hand that Sans had, sighing.  "You don't want to say goodbye to Sans, do you?"

Just as you opened your mouth, you heard the skeleton chuckle.  "Don't ask me to stay.  I have to get home so I can read Papyrus his bedtime story.  After all, you checked on her during dinner."

"I know," the doctor sighed unhappily.  "I m-meant to do it sooner, but Undyne came over.  And I was going to ask if s-she could stay with you."

Sans laughed.  "Where?  In my bed?"

You fold your ears back, shaking lightly. The skeleton looked down at you, worry in his eyes. He sighed, letting go of your hand and taking your covers off.

"Sans?" you squeak out as you felt his boney arms go around you, lifting you bridal style before placing you on the ground.

You were almost as tall as him, but still a bit shorter. He grabbed your hand again, pulling you along. You took shaky steps, feeling your muscles burn as if you haven't moved in years.  Slowly, you look at your wings, spreading them out wide, feeling them crack.  Soon, you let your legs bend as far as they did without any discomfort, leaning against Sans for support.

"Stop by when you want to check on her, Alphys!" Sans called over his shoulder as he led you out of the lab.

When you looked at him, you notice that he wanted to do something.  He glanced over to you every now and then, sighing.  Whatever he wanted to do, he couldn't do it with you.
