"Alex you need to wake up!"
I opened an eye sleepily.
"What the hell guys?" I groaned to Tom, Danny, Julian, and Rob.
"PRACTICE DAY!" they screamed. I sat up, and all five of them were shirtless. Wait...Rob, Danny, Tom, Julian...1, 2, 3, 4. Where was Austin?
"Ugh. You're such idiots," I groaned, blinking rapidly and trying to adjust to the light. I looked at Rob. His hair was wet and matted down to his forehead. He grinned.
"Like what you see?" he asked, smirking.
"Yes I do," I replied matter-of-factly. Tom snorted. "Alright, you guys move your asses and get out of my way. I need to change."
"That's a sight I'd like to see," Rob said, smirking. I rolled my eyes and folded the covers back.
"OUT Gronkowski! You too, Edelman, Amendola, Brady. I need to shower," I said, throwing a pillow at Rob. They laughed and left. I pulled out a New England Patriots workout tank top and a hoodie of mine. I grabbed my yoga pants and my favorite pair of grey high top Converse. I went into the tiny bathroom and put my clothes on the counter. I locked the door and turned on the shower. I undressed, and hopped in. I let the hot water run over me. I washed my body and face. Finally I got to my hair. I lathered up the soap in my hair and started to rinse. I hopped out and dried off. I seldom blow dried my hair, so I just got dressed. I walked out the door and saw the four boys, sitting around the fire pit.
"Hi babe," Rob said, grinning and biting his lip.
"Hey Alex," Julian said, holding back a laugh.
"You look...blue. What's wrong?" Danny asked, and he started cracking up. I shook my head at their weirdness.
"Alright, we going to practice or not?" I asked.
"Yeah. We are," Danny replied, still cracking up. I walked over to Rob's car and barely caught a glimpse of my reflection. I did a double take, and stared in the car mirror. My hair was blue. I was a freaking Smurf.
"SALAMANDERS!" I screamed. "MY HAIR! I'M A FUCKING SMURF! YOU IDIOTS!"
"Oh shit!" I heard Tom exclaim.
"YOU THINK?! WHAT THE HELL?! WHEN'S IT GONNA WASH OUT?" I asked frantically. "WHEN THE HELL IS MY HAIR GONNA BE BACK TO NORMAL?!"
"You laugh like retarded seal," Danny pointed out. I snorted.
"Ugh I love you guys," I said. "But in all seriousness, when's my hair gonna be normal again?"
"About four or five weeks," Tom shrugged.
"Four or five weeks?!" I shrieked. "Oh you're in for it Gronkowski. You two are in for it too," I said, pointing to Danny and Tom.
"You know," I decided, "Julian is the only one I like right now. I'm going with him."
I got in Julian's BMW and he hopped in. I stuck out my tongue at the other three through the window. Julian and I left and went to the stadium.
"Where's Austin?" I asked. Julian shrugged and brushed a strand of hair from his eyes.
"I don't know. I woke up, and he was gone. His stuff isn't even here," Julian shrugged. I hung my head.
"He's really taking this hard, isn't he?" I asked, frowning. Julian shot me a puzzled glance.
"What do you mean?"
"He didn't tell you?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"He got let go," I said quietly. Julian's head hung low.
"I guess that means he's going home, huh?"
"Yeah," I nodded sadly. Julian stared intently at the road.
"Do you remember what I said last night, Alex?" he asked.
"Yeah. You said that you guys were my second family, and you'd always have my back," I smiled.
"I want you to know that I really meant it. You may be his girlfriend, but you're part of this team just as much as he is," Julian said. I looked at the floor.
"I want you to know that I've got your back too," I said. "All of you. No matter how pissed I am that my hair is blue."
"That wasn't me!" he exclaimed defensively.
"I know!" I laughed. "You guys really are amazing, Jules. I love you all."
"We love you too Alex."
