"Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom." –Aristotle

Listen.

I am not going to give you a speech on how being a demigod is tough or how difficult it is to survive surrounded by monsters that would not mind gulping you down after a single bite. If anything, you should go talk to the famed Percy Jackson about that; his life being the son of Poseidon and all was and still is pretty difficult.

The reason why I am here is to simply tell you about my journey through self-discovery so that it may possibly help you through yours. Are you wondering what that is? Well, thanks to my good friend Hunter who luckily sleeps next to a dictionary, he has got a handy definition for you:

Self-discovery is the act or process of gaining knowledge or understanding of your abilities, character, and feelings.

And let me tell you first hand; self-discovery isn't easy.

It is going to be hard, fellow demigod. Harder than killing a seven headed Hydra. Harder than meeting your godly parent and hoping they won't disintegrate you with a snap of their fingers. If you are here, reading this, hoping that the journey through self-discovery is going to be a cinch, a walk through the park if you will... You should most probably leave. It is not going to magically be solved with a push of a button, although, maybe a conversation with the Fates can help you out.

Trust me; this road may even seem impossible. A long, winding and twisting path that never seems to end. But as the legendary Audrey Hepburn, my role model, stated: "Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible'!".

So do not give up. Do not lose hope. Not just yet.

And if you are a normal mortal reading this book, wondering what in the world I am rambling about with the whole monsters/demigod thing, then maybe you should leave unless you believe this should be classified under the fantasy genre.

Because everything written here, every single word right down to the last letter, is true.
