SABTI POV
My divorce from DeVante was finalized on May 5, 2015. I can't believe that after nearly sixteen years together, we're divorced. Do I wish things were different? Yes. That doesn't mean I regret my daughters. You know what else? Chris has another child named Royalty with another woman. Looks like I'm not the only one he "loves." He was dealing with us at the same time. My Our kids were born 22-23 days apart. They were friends dealing with break-ups, and when Roro was concieved, it just happened for them. She found me through Facebook and explained that they were never in a relationship the way he and I were. I can't blame her at all, it's Chris who I blame in all of this. If you wanted to be a hoe, fine. Just cut me loose and fuck with her til ya dick falls off. The other woman's name is Nia Guzman and I'm in the States to meet up with her and talk about getting our daughters together. After all, they are sisters!
I drove up to Nobu to meet Nia for lunch. She's a pretty girl and sitting down in a high chair was little Royalty, who had long curly hair and a smile just like her damn daddy! I walked up to them where we both hugged each other tightly. This is going better than expected, two women who have babies with the same man having a civil conversation and getting along. You have to be above any bullshit for the sake of your kids.
Me: It's so nice to meet you, Nia.
Nia: Same here, Sabti.
Me: Hi Roro!
Royalty: Hi!
Me: My girls are with my sister a few blocks from here.
Nia: They favor Chris. But, how you been?
Me: I'm good. You?
Nia: Can't complain. I just want to say how relieved I am that two women who have babies with the same man can have a civil conversation and get along. We have to be above any bullshit for the sake of our kids.
Me: Are you in my head? Girl, cause that's what I was saying to myself!
We shared a laugh. As we had our lunch, we went over play date arrangements: I'd bring the babies by every other weekend from Honduras to L.A. where Royalty and Nia live. I don't want any beef with her, we just have to be women about the situation at hand and as far as I know there ain't no beef.
We took a pic for the 'gram, and as usual, the media made a spectacle out of it. Headlines reading: "CHRIS BROWN'S BABY MAMAS MAKE PEACE, JOIN FORCES TO RUN SINGER DRY OF CHILD SUPPORT PAYMENTS." First of all, we're two women who are befriending each other because we're mothers of the same man's children (and because we get along fairly well). I didn't have time for this shit, I had Nia follow me by car to get my girls so Royalty could see her older sisters. We made it to Topaz' house and I brought Taillow and Kakuna to Nia's car to see their other sister.
Royalty: Sussahs?
Nia: Yeah, they're your sisters baby girl.
Taillow looked at me, then Nia, then at Royalty. Kakuna went up to her and embraced her. It was the cutest thing ever. Seeing the girls bond was amazing, even if it was only for a few minutes. Nia and I exchanged information (phone numbers, etc.), hugged and went our separate ways. I had to drop the girls off again with Chris' mom Joyce because its' his time with them. I do admit that this travel is stressful, but I can't stay in the United States anymore. I went through too much shit here.
Now, I've never met this woman and I'm hesitant to leave my children with her. I don't care that she used to have a day care center, who knows what she's capable of. Nia says that Mama Joyce is a godsend, but I don't know that. I sighed, parked my car, got Taillow and Kakuna out of their car seats, grabbed each of their bags and knocked on the door. After a few seconds, a dark skinned black man with a familiar looking smile extended his hand, I politely shook it.
Me: My name is---
Clinton: Sabti?
Me: Yes, yes it is.
Clinton: I'm Clinton, Chris' father.
Me: Nice to meet you.
Clinton: Nice to meet you too, my dear. Come on in!
Nice guy. Maybe Chris should have taken after him more. I saw a light skinned woman with curly hair click clack her heels on in the main room where we were.
Joyce: Clinton, who was at the---
She locked eyes with me and I looked away from her. I can see where Chris gets this attitude from.
Joyce: Oh, hello there Sabti!
Me: Hello.
She looked down at her granddaughters with pride and then back up at me.
...Maybe I was wrong about her?
