"Welcome former students! You have been cordially invited to GWHS's High School Reunion! Catch up with old friends, make new memories, the chances are up to you! Join us on September the 14th at 6:00PM! RSVP at 555-5555!"

The letter was embroidered onto a very vibrant blue piece of copy paper, with italicized words, and small red borders at the ends of each corner. I continued to re-read the invitation, reminiscing on the high school days. Did I really want to go to this reunion? Biting the insides of my lip, and still thinking of reasons why I shouldn't go, I finally decided to tri-fold the paper back into it's original shape, sticking it back into the white envelope, sitting it in front of myself on the coffee table.

I sighed loudly, while laying back down on the leather couch, robe and bunny slippers still on my feet. I had exactly a week to think about going to this reunion thing. One week wasn't long enough, I wasn't sure I'd have my answer by then. I wasn't sure I'd have my answer ever.

The loud broadcaster on the TV distracted from my thoughts. "You cannot change the past, but you can do something about the future." "Oh Joel Osteen," I said out loud, as I changed it from the inspirational channel to BET. Laying back down, I decided to make a mental list of reasons why I should go and why I shouldn't go.

Mental List: Why I Should Go. Number 1, I can show off my amazing body. Number 2, I can reunite with my old friends, who said they'd keep in touch but never did. Number 3, I've got nothing to lose. Mental List 2: Why I Shouldn't Go. Number 1, Elizabeth Benson still probably has a better body than me. Number 2, I didn't have many friends in high school that I COULD reunite with. At least, none that I could remember. Number 3, I've got everything to lose. What if someone asks if I'm married? If I have kids? God damn, I'm 29 going on 30, and I'm still single and lonely.

I scratched both lists out of my head, before rising from the couch, which now was probably hot from me laying there so long, and walked into the kitchen. "Hey, my little Princess," I unhooked the chain from the cage, while letting Princess, my white Bichon, jumped onto my lap, panting hard, and licking my legs. I picked her up, and cuddled with her, right on the kitchen floor.

"At least I know I still have you."

"Bills, bills, bills, invitation?"  I threw the rest of the envelopes onto the concrete of my driveway, while pausing to open the envelope.

"Welcome former students! You have been cordially invited to GWHS's High School Reunion! Catch up with old friends, make new memories, the chances are up to you! Join us on September the 14th at 6:00PM! RSVP at 555-5555!"

"Wait, how the fuck did they get my address?" I thought, before finally ripping the invitation up, and throwing it away in the trash can, that was awaiting to be picked up by the sanitation people. I did not want to go back to that school, and see those people. Especially not my old crew. I stopped messing around with them, I didn't need to be pulled back in. The weed, drinking, and girls thing is not for me, especially when they do it everyday.

I opened the front door, walking back into the house. "Rayan, is that you?" A voice came from upstairs, as I replied a quick 'yeah!', resuming my NBA 2K14. The small footsteps came from the stairs, before finally arriving behind me. "Good morning, Rayan." "Good morning, Kay Kay." I kissed her on the cheek, as she gave me a huge smile.

"I want some pancakes, Rayan," Kay Kay said from the kitchen, as I saved my game, going into the kitchen, and picking her up. "Today, I'm gonna teach you how to make pancakes." I replied, setting her onto the countergoing into the pantry, and grabbing the ingredients. Pancake mix and flour (mom's secret recipe to the fluffiest pancakes). I set the ingredients in front of Kay Kay. "But remember Mommy said I can't use the stove?"

"WHO CARES!? YOUR AT YOUR BIG BROTHER'S HOUSE! WE DON'T FOLLOW RULES!" She laughed loudly, almost falling from the counter. I laughed along, as I went and stood in front of her.

"At least I know I still have you."
