Star couldn't tell specifically how many hours she and her family had been locked inside of the Throne Room, but she could grasp that it had been quite a long time, since the gentle orange sunset of Mewni was begininng to creep in through the few open windows.
Tom had made himself more than comfortable in the throne with King River's crown perched on top of his deep red hair, but he looked oddly distressed.
"This is taking too long..." the self-proclaimed king of Mewni mumbled to himself "Marco's sure is taking his sweet time..."
Star ignored the redhead's voice and looked over her shoulder, noticing that every member of her family had fallen into a deep slumber, but then again, who could blame them?
Any normal person would feel sleep-deprived after a whole day of violent kidnappings and pointless interrogations too.
The princesses decided that sleeping was probably the best course of action as well, after all it would make time go quicker and it would distract her brain from something other than the gnawing pain of hunger in her stomach; which was thanks to the merge meals of bread and water Tom had issued them...
Star longed for some of Marco's hot, delicous, moreish home cooking...In actual fact, there wasn't one cell in her body that wasn't craving the Safe Kid to some extent.
The blond wanted to hear his awkward, yet satisfying voice, feel his slender, yet strong hands, stare into his big, beautiful brown eyes and kiss his thin, but super soft lips...'It's like I have Marco withdrawal symptons or something...' Star thought, snuggling up next to Sear, who was curled up on the carpeted floor of the Throne Room, sleeping soundly.
'But if I'm suffering this much, then Sear must really be in a terrible state...' the blond thought, tucking a bunch of stray strands out of her twin's face and behind her left ear. 'Sear has to rely on Marco for loads of stuff...I really hope that she's okay...'Despite the situation being as dire as it was, Star couldn't help but notice how this whole experience had made her appreciate Marco a lot more than she already did, if that was even possible.
But still, the blond couldn't help but wonder where Marco was right now, but she hoped with all of her heart that he was on his way to save her family...
No.
All of Mewni..."Okay. Stay low, kid. Remember what I told you? Keep your head down and try to stay underneath their radar, alright?" Ivan said to somewhat exhausted and confused Marco Diaz. "You can see the castle from anywhere in this kingdom, so you can't get lost"
"What're you talking about Ivan?" The Safe Kid asked. "Aren't we going to go there together?"
"No. I've got my own stuff to attend to, remember? Plus, you're old enough, Marco. I reckon you can handle this by yourself"
"Are you serious?"
"Aye, I am. Deadly serious"
"B-But..."
"Hey. I'll see you again after this all blows over, alright? Now go and save Mewni, lad!"
And with that inspiring yet informative speech under his belt, Ivan flipped up the hood on his black coat and hurried away, sticking to the shadows. For a few seconds, Marco didn't really know what to do, but then the realisation of the situation hit him like a slap in the face!
"I can't just stand around here! I've got to hurry! Star and Sear need my help...no, all of Mewni needs my help! I'm not going to let them down!" The Safe Kid said to himself, looking up at the large looming castle in the distance, knowing that he was about to embark on the biggest, most dangerous rescue misson of his life!
