Gunner's POV

"Wake up lazy bones." Jace said yawning.

"Come on five more minutes." I whined.

"Gun the people will be here to start the roof soon." Jace said.

"Okay buddy, I'm up. Did you by chance make breakfast?" I asked opening my eyes and yawning.

"I thought we would have cold chicken." he said yawning.

"Go take a nap. I've got this." I said hopping up. I stepped out in my basketball shorts and flip flops. I stretched and headed for the now private bathroom that Charlee made into a rather nice outhouse.

I ate some chicken gathered clothes and went to get cleaned up. I had some clean up to do before anyone showed up.

I checked the time and it was just going on six so people would be showing up soon. Quickly I cleared everything away from the house and drive. I needed to make sure my truck was left open so I could leave for my appointment.

"Mr. Madison, were here to start the roof." mr. rivers said as I came out of the house.

"Okay, did you bring the windows by chance?" I asked.

"Sure did my guys are in loading them right now." He said smiling.

"Thanks, I'm hoping to be staying indoors before that storm hit this weekend." I said.

"We will do our best to get done as soon as we can." He said.

"As long as you cover up at night we should be okay. I'm going to trim up the trees around the house later but right now I don't want to get in your way." I said adding the load of trash to the dumpster.

"I'm sure you'll stay out of our way. I'll have my some and his friend brim the windows over here for you." He said.

"Thanks." I said smiling a as I started to take the plywood off the windows I needed to replace.

"Hey my dad said to bring you these. where do you want them?" a hot ass guy asked.

"Up by the door is fine. Thanks. my name is Gunner. Gunner Madison." I said holding out my hand as soon as they had sat down the windows.

"Logan Rivers." hottie said.

"Casper Fisher, third in command." the tall blonde said earning a elbow from the hottie. Logan. I like it.

"What if you dad isn't here and your not here I'm in charge. Geesh you mean." Casper whined.

"And your a moron." Logan said making me chuckle.

"So sexy, you go to school? graduate? or what?" Casper asked.

"Graduated, working and raising two kids." I said smiling.

"Nice." Casper the flirt said.

"And you two?" I asked.

"Graduated and working." Logan said.

"Same." Casper said.

"Logan, Casper lets get to work." a red headed boy said coming around the corner.

"Hey." I said.

"Hey." he said.

"Gunner Madison." I said holding out my hand.

"Christian Silverman." he said shaking my hand.

"Well we have to get to work. Nice meeting you." Logan said.

"Thanks same here." I said waving them off. I like me some Logan.

I went to work on putting windows in. When Charlee got up she started helping me. When it was time for me to go to my appointment Charlee begged for me to leave her and Jace there. It was a hard thing for me to do but I some how knew they would be safe.

"Well Gunner, I have decided we are going to start weening you off these pills and see what happens. Starting Sunday I don't want you to take it." He said.

"Really but I work on Monday." I said.

"You may need to let Lester know." he said. I need to work.

"Okay." I said frowning.

"Here is four pills. If things go like I think they will you won't need them anymore. I wish you would stay with your aunt but she has agreed to stay with you instead. Just for a couple days." He said handing me a couple of pills. I was pissed to say the least but there was nothing I could do.

"Okay, well I have to go." I said sighing as I got off the table.

"I need you back here on Tuesday." He said making me mad.

"Fine." I said leaving the exam room and heading out. I paid the receptionist.

I hope that the quack knows what the hell he is talking about. If I have to go through that pain again I might kill his ass.

"So what have I missed?" I asked as soon as I got back.

"Not much. They almost have one side completely off. The electric people where here and the guy that knew mom and dad talked to him an they got the power up and running." Charlee said.

"Cool so while you clean the down stairs let me go prime the well and turn on the hot water heater." I said happier now that things were looking up.

"Mr. Rivers did that. He said we are good to go. Jace is burying the outhouse and taking that tent and moving it.

"Well haven't we been busy little bees. Did you thank Mr. Rivers?" I asked walking into the house. The lights where on and it looked a whole lot better. I loved this kitchen. It needed a new fridge, stove and dishwasher but I loved the set up. It was like the center of the whole down stairs. The living room was on one side, the den or playroom on the other and my dads office was in the farthest corner.

"I hope you don't mind I went ahead and made sure everything was up and running right." Mr. Rivers said coming in the doorway.

"Thank you. I think we might get to sleep inside tonight if Charlee keeps it up. With your help getting it all going before I got home it set us a head." I said smiling.

"Your welcome. You have quiet the little workers here." he said smiling at Charlee who was frowning at the little part.

"Yes I do. Their good kids." I said proudly.

"Gun where did you want that other tarped shed at?" Jace asked.

"Set it up out side by that Willow tree you and I can get these appliances out and everything cleaned up." I said.

When Mr. Rivers was done helping me carry out the old appliances the kids and I started to clean the whole down stairs. The dumpster was almost beyond full but tomorrow I could go order all the furniture and appliances. Hopefully I had enough in my savings for that.
