Chapter.33 🌵

-Normal POV-

There it was, Matt's old neighbourhood.

It looked the same ever since he moved out, such a beat up house with a bad vibe around. It was almost as if he didn't move away from the house with the guys.

The only difference is his mother and sister living there. Before he could enter his house he heard someone approaching him, or rather a group approached him.

"Hey look who it is, Curly Fry." Matt let out a sigh as he realized who it was. He turned to see 3 of his old classmates back in High School before dropping out.

"Ryan, Jess, and Kyle... How nice to meet you guys." Matt said with a nervous smile. You would think he was in good terms with these old classmates of Matt but they were actually his bullies.

"Well here you are in your 20's living with your mommy in the basement." They all laughed. Matt rolled his eyes.

"Aren't you all too old to be bullying me like this?" The guys laughter calmed down and gave Matt a look.

"Who said we're bullying you? And who knows, CurlyFry here has a decent job, a place of his own, and maybe a girl finally?"

Matt started to feel frustrated.
"Of course I have a job, I have my own place I'm just visiting my mother. And damn right I have a girlfriend!"

"What?? Who would fall for a CurlyFry guy like you???"

"Yea, who is she?" They all demanded.

"She's 18, very gorgeous, a bit short, she has quite a wild side to her, her name is Penelope we started dating a few months back."

The guys laughed, the one named Kyle grabbed Matt by the front of his shirt.

"You better not be lying to us CurlyFry, there's gotta be a pretty face onto that made up description." He let go of Matt as he struggled.

"So we'll invite you to a party tonight, bring your little girlfriend over. If it really is true, then we'll quit out teasing." Matt's ears perked up at his offer.

"Really?"

"And if we find out that you're lying, then we'll teach you what you get for lying... See ya tonight CurlyFry."

The guys continued their laughter as they left. Matt sighed. •Oh god what have I done?• he thought then remembered that Penelope got discharged from the hospital today so she should be at home.

There was no time to lose, he had to ask Penelope this one favour, besides, she's like his best friend.

-Penelope's POV-

"Absolutely not."

Curly made a sad face. I felt bad for immediately rejecting his plan. He explained how his old bullies noticed his arrival and would continue to harass him unless he proved how much he changed.

But I feel as if I would be betraying George, even if it was just pretending.

"But, if it's George you're worried about, he doesn't have to know! It'll just be for tonight!"

"Uhh... I don't know know man... That just makes me feel even more guilty if I'm doing this behind his back." I said honestly.

"Why not ask another girl to pretend to be your girlfriend for the night?" I suggested.
