Harmony Olivia Collins

I was laying in my bed when I felt small hands on my face.

I opened one eye to see my daughter, Kimora, smiling.

She started to squirm and I sighed, waking up out of my sleep fully.

"Who brought you in here?" I asked her.

"Daddy." She smiled at me.

I rolled my eyes and got out of bed with her on my hip.

"Let's go wake Kam up." I said as we walked down the hallway.

She started squealing, which made me laugh.

I walked into my son's room, seeing him sprawled out on his mattress.

"Kamden, it's time to get up." I set Kimora down and she ran towards him.

He groaned and tried to turn away but she kept yelling in his ear.

He sat up and looked over at me.

"I'm going to make breakfast, watch your sister." I said as I left out the room.

I went down the stairs to see Tamir sitting at the table, drinking a bottle of water.

I started to move around the kitchen and cook breakfast when I felt arms wrap around me.

"Good morning, Harmony." He said as he kissed my neck.

I rolled my eyes and stayed silent.

"So, it's one of those mornings today, huh?" He said as he stepped back from me.

"Where were you last night?" I asked as I cracked eggs into a bowl.

"I was here." He said.

"Hm, I bet." I beat the eggs in the bowl.

You spend almost 10 years with someone and you hope that they tell you the truth.

I met Tamir when I was 16.

I was walking through Spanish Harlem when he stopped me and that's when it all started.

We started hanging out and he became my best friend and then my boyfriend.

We went off to college together, had two kids and still not anywhere near being married.

Maybe it was because of his infidelities, maybe it was because of my stupidity.

Kamden came in the kitchen, holding Kimora's hand.

I fixed their breakfast, set it in front of them and walked back upstairs to shower.

I threw on a pair of black leggings, a white v-neck and my Bred 11s.

I slicked my hair into a ponytail and put on a pair of hoop earrings.

I jogged back downstairs to see the kids watching TV.

"Let's go get ready." I said as I stood in front of the TV.

I lifted Kimora as we walked to Kamden's room.

I sat Kimora in the tub while Kamden took a shower.

I washed her up, did her hair and dressed in a denim romper with Cool Grey 11s and a gray headband.

Kamden had on camo shorts, a black t-shirt and Concord 11s.

We all walked downstairs to see Tamir sitting  on the couch.

He stood up and grabbed Kimora from me.

"Where y'all going?" He asked as he kissed her cheek.

"Out." I said as I threw things in my purse.

"Where?" He asked again.

"I don't know, wherever Kam wants to go. I just don't wanna be in the house." I said.

"Daddy, are you coming?" Kam asked from the couch.

He nodded as I rolled my eyes.

I ran to my room to grab my wallet that I left.

"What, you gon have a attitude all day?" He said as he wrapped his arms around me.

I tried to unwrap them but he gripped me harder.

"I helped Ahmad set up the nursery at his house." He said after a while.

Ahmad is his best friend from childhood.

I stayed silent.

"Want me to call him and Katrina?" He said as he looked down at me.

I shook my head no.

"You believe me?" He said.

I nodded and he kissed my forehead.

"I'm sorry." He said into my hair.

I wrapped my arms around him and felt him relax.

"You really going?" I asked.

"Yeah, I just gotta change shoes." He said as he pulled away.

"Gimme kiss." He puckered his lips at me.

I pecked them and walked downstairs.

Kimora and Kamden were watching TV and looked over at me.

"Let's get to the car. Daddy's on his way." I picked Kimora up and walked outside.

I set her up, made sure Kamden was buckled and slid into the passenger seat.

Tamir came out in a black baseball jersey, jeans with rips in them and Gamma 11s.

"You driving." He said as he opened my door.

I hopped over the console as he got in my seat and pulled from the driveway.

I had a perfect little family, truly.
