Chapter Twenty One: Saying Goodbye
"Wake up Violet," Ace said lightly shaking me. I opened my eyes and looked at the clock. It was only noon. I looked out the window and saw the campus. I made it. After wanting it since I was like four, I finally made it. I unbuckled my seatbelt and got out looking up at the big bad campus. Ace wrapped his arms around my waist from behind and I leaned into him.
"How can you afford this?" he asked. I smiled realizing that I never told him.
"I made it in academic scholarship," I explained. He kissed the top of my head and nodded.
"Of course you did," he stated. I turned around to face him.
"Ace, I don't want to lose you," I said a tear running down my cheek. He wiped it away and I closed my eyes.
"You won't ever lose me if I can help it," he assured me. I opened my eyes and hugged him.
"Do you want to help me unpack?" I asked not wanting him to leave. He nodded and got my suitcase from the back. I lead him to the front desk of the administration office, and after doing all of the paperwork, I got my dorm number and room key. Ace carried my suitcase again, despite my protest, and we finally got to my room.
I used the room key to open the door and we went inside. There was two beds, which meant that I had a roommate, and one side was already decorated and set up, so I assumed the other side was mine. My side had a queen sized bed and the other side was a twin because I had ordered a new bed to be delivered here. There was only one bathroom which luckily was on my side. Ace put my stuff down on the side of the room that wasn't occupied already, and we sat down.
"Sup, I'm Amy. This side of the room is mine and that side is yours which I see that you figured out. I'm a freshmen and so are you, so don't look up to me. Sometimes I won't be here, but if my boyfriend comes by, let him in cause he gets to stay here when he can't stay in his own room," a girl said while flopping back on the other bed. Great, my roommate hates me already.
"I don't know what your boyfriend looks like," I said. Ace tightened his grip on my hand trying not to say anything to my rude roommate. He took a breathe and his grip loosened.
"Babe, my roommate and her boyfriend want to meet you," she yelled while doing something on her phone. I was confused and by the looks of it, so was Ace. The bathroom door opened and I jumped in fear. Ace and I both looked over and saw a half naked guy with wet hair and tan skin walk over to us and smirk at me. Ace covered my eyes and I laughed putting his hand down. I looked over at him and something about him looked familiar.
"Put a shirt on would yeah?" asked Ace. I smiled and squeezed his hand.
"No, I think that the girls likes it better this way," he responded winking at me never losing his smirk for a second. My roommate was dating a bad boy. That sounded familiar.
"I second that statement," Amy said. That made me mentally giggle. I stood up and looked him in the eyes.
"I'm Violet Sanders and this is my boyfriend Ace Daniels," I said holding out my hand for a handshake. He took my hand and kissed it winking at me again which made me blush no matter how hard I tried to hide it. I looked over at Ace and he had a seriously jealous look on his face.
"I'm Damon, and you're a virgin," he said looking at my face. My mouth dropped and Ace pulled me back down to my bed.
"How did you know?" I asked without thinking which made me blush because I admitted that to a total stranger.
"That right there. The blush. Only virgins still blush when guys look at them," he stated and I nodded. It seemed reasonable.
"Hey babe, I gotta run. I'll be back tonight to pick you up for that party," Damon said winking at Amy and leaving. I stood up and started unpacking all of my stuff. I started by putting sheets and pillows on my bed, and then put a rug on the floor next to my bed because the floor was sure to get cold at night. I put my clothes in the nightstand that was next to my bed along with a picture of Ace and another of my mom.
After I was done unpacking everything, I sat on my bed and looked at the room that I would be staying in for the next four years.
"You do know that I'm not leaving right?" he asked. I rolled my eyes and grabbed his hand.
"Yes you are, but we can have breakfast before you go," I said. He smiled.
"It's one p.m." he stated while looking at the clock. I nodded.
"I know, but I'm in the mood for crepes," I explained. He laughed and took me out of the room and into the elevator. We left the dorms and went to the parking lot to get my car. I let Ace drive, and we went to a coffee shop that we had seen on the way to the campus. Ace ordered a black coffee with a pumpkin twist, and I got a fruit smoothie with a strawberry banana crepe with whipped cream.
"After seeing that guy, there is no way that I can just go home," Ace said while wiping whipped cream off my nose.
"You are going home, but there is one thing that I realized just now. We drove my car here, and it's staying here, so you have to take a bus home. Or a plane, but last minute tickets are expensive," I said while eating some more of my crepe. He nodded and pulled out a one way bus ticket home. I smiled and he put it back in his pocket.
Once we had finished up at the coffee shop, we drove back to the dorms and it was three already.
"Your bus leaves at three thirty," I reminded him and he nodded sadly. We sat at the bus stop and listened to the playlist that I made for Ace. Once the bus was pulling up, Ace turned to me and smiled.
"Don't cheat on me okay?" we both said at the same time. We both laughed and I leaned in to kiss him. He met me in the middle and we kissed.
"I don't want to say goodbye," he said.
"Then this isn't a goodbye. It's a see you later," I said tears falling from my eyes. He wiped it away and climbed up on the bus.
"I love you," we said at the same time and the bus doors closed. I took a deep breath and wiped the rest of my tears away. Snap out of it. This is your first day on campus, you can do this.
I walked up the steps to the girls dorms and opened mine. The lights were off, so I assumed that Amy was gone I flopped back onto my bed and took a breath. The lights turned on and I opened my eyes to find Damon towering over me.
A/N: I know that this is probably confusing, but I decided just to continue on with this book because twenty chapters isn't much and I feel like I can just continue as normal. Sorry for my indecisiveness, but I hope you enjoyed the story. Please vote comment and share as normal.
