Tord woke up confused. He didn't know where he was. He held his head in despair as memories came flooding back into his mind. He made his way to the bathroom to ingest an Advil that would hopefully soothe the ache that consumed his brain. Everything was too bright and he simply wanted to retreat and dive under the soft, safe comforter.
He opened the cabinet and stood there in complete and utter confusion.
Empty.
He decided that perhaps he had made a mistake. It was probably just in the other room. Tord entered the hallway, his head throbbing and his body lethargic and heavy as if he was suddenly composed of lead.
He entered the hotel room without knocking and froze.
It's just a nightmare... He thought simultaneously screaming at himself to just wake up.
It's not real it's not real it's not real it's not real it's not real it's not real it's not real.
It can't be real
IT CANT.
he stared at Patrick.
Unmoving.
Not breathing
Dead.
Next to Patrick, Paul laid curled up, an empty bottle that once contained 34 tabs of Advil neglected on the ground that connected the bed.
Tord snapped. He picked up the bottle and threw it at the window with force that etched a web into the glass. He was falling... Falling down. His head hit the tile floor and his vision became spotty.
Darkness coated him and he laid there almost peacefully.
Empty. No thoughts. Nothing. Numb. Shaking. Cold.
His brain shrieked for him to get up.
Get up.
GET UP.
He couldn't move. He was frozen for what seemed like an eternity when he finally picked himself off the icy floor. He moved painfully slow in the direction of the now cracked window. Then all at once his body moved faster, faster, faster and he collided with the window feeling millions of tiny shards break away from it and press into skin and everything seemed to be moving so slowly. Blood oozed from every single cut and scratch inflicted by the fractured glass. He fell backwards facing the oh-so-blue sky and smiled at its beauty just before smashing into the ground.
