After my little depressed state and talk with Cordell I just decided that whatever happens will happen. I couldn't control everything in my life and I should be happy with what I do have. Cordell was right though I did need to trust him more.
I was now at work trying to get some work done. I was just trying to throw myself into my work so that I didn't have to think about anything. After hard work I had finally had the date for the event for the girls program. I also had all the girls picked out with the people they would be shadowing. I was proud of myself and couldn't wait for it to happen.
"So boss lady you okay in here," Denise asked coming in.
"Yea why you ask?"
"Because I haven't seen you work this hard since you first began working here. What's up?"
"Nothing just trying to get this girls program stuff done."
"Fine don't tell me but whatever it is just know I am here for you." Denise was one of those friends you could call whenever you needed someone to talk to and you would know she wouldn't judge you. I wanted to talk to her about what was going on but I couldn't bring myself to. If I talked about it then it would make it more real and I couldn't take that. I wanted this all to go away. I was still trying to figure out if I wanted to do them damn injections or if I just wanted to let it be. Cordell keeps telling me it is all up to me whether or not I decide to do it but that's not true. I was marrying him so he has some say in this and at this point I just wanted to crawl into a hole into everything was fixed. I hated that this was my life right now.
"Earth to Lelaih," Denise said snapping her hands in my face. "What?"
"I been calling you, damn where you go?"
"Just thinking but I need you to do something for me."
"Back to business I see."
"I need you to draw up a contract for each company that is involved and is sponsoring this program and then take them to Mr. Richards to sign off on so I can send them to them." She stood up straightening her skirt. "Fine I will get back to work but I will find out what's wrong with you."
A couple hours went by when my door opened again. I thought it was Denise so I didn't look up. "You could at least acknowledge a bitch." Grace.
"What are you doing here? Don't you have a job that my fiancé is over?"
"Whatever he lets me do what I want since you been making him happy." Don't know happy he has been lately. "Grace what are you doing here I have work to do."
"I need you to come with me to do something."
"Again I have a job Grace, I can't just get up and leave when I want to."
"I really need you to do this for me."
"And I really need my job."
"If I tell you what it is about will you come?"
"It might happen but I doubt it." She sighed, "I got a call from this Lacey girl asking to meet me for lunch and I need you to come with me for support."
"Wait is this the same girl that is supposed to marry Damien?"
"Yes, now do you see why I need you to come with me?" Damnit! One problem after another. "Fine I will come with you."
We followed the address to the place she wanted to meet at and it turned out to be some high class restaurant. "Can I help you guys?"
"Um we are here to see a Vangouh." He looked over his list then smiled. "Right this way ladies." We followed him to a table in the back where a tall skinny dark girl sat reading her menu. She had long dark hair that stopped down her back and it seemed like legs for days. You could tell she came from money just by the way she sat. "Are you Lacey Vangouh?" she looked up. "Yes, and you must be Grace Lewis?"
