I put my hand on his cheek making him look at me. "I'll visit whenever you like."

He grinned at my words, "I'd like that." He said as he leaned in to give me a quick kiss on my mouth.

I blushed, "Don't surprise me like that!" I exclaimed.

"You know you liked it." He smirked.

And the arrogant jerk was back. But I guess as long as he was okay, that was fine.

I smiled sweetly, getting up and walking towards the door. "I sure did, baby."

We resumed going to school as usual, endured hours of painful study and let off some steam after school by hitting up the local junk food places. But this afternoon, Lauren had gone early because she ate too much at lunch and felt sick, Lola had to go to the hospital for a check up and Tom had to babysit. We all decided to go home that day but since Hunter was free, I decided to surprise him by visiting him now that I knew where he lived.

I got changed into something a little nicer than the shirt and track pants I wore to school and put on a red flannel and matched it with with washed out skinny jeans.

After grabbing my phone and keys, I caught the bus to Hunter's. I kept imagining his reaction when I arrived at his door. And me being a sucker for romance, I kept imagining all the scenarios that I hoped would happen. Hunter pulling me into his arms and whispering into my hair that he's happy  that I came, Hunter looking surprised for a second before pulling me in for a kiss, maybe a make out session? I almost squealed at the thought.

As I pressed the button, the bus halted to a stop and I thanked the driver before hopping off. It was only a few minutes walk from the stop to Hunter's apartment and I had arrived before I knew it. To my surprise, I saw him come out from the building. I was about to call out to him when I caught sight of a girl. A gorgeous girl with amazing blond hair. Wait, I had seen this girl somewhere before...

"Holy shit." I whispered as I ducked behind a tree. This was the same girl I had seen talking to Hunter at Hannah's party months back. The one he was laughing and smiling with. At that point, I hadn't seen him smile like that. Who was this girl?!

They had stopped at the front of the building and was talking. I tried to eavesdrop on their conversation but I could not hear a word for the life of me.

Hunter was smiling and talking animatedly to her and she stood there laughing at whatever he was saying. And to my horror, she leaned in close to him and gave him a playful nudge in the ribs.

My heart dropped to my feet and tears pooled in my eyes. Why? I thought he... I thought he liked me? Maybe not. Maybe I just misunderstood what he wanted from me, from us. There probably wasn't even an us. But there obviously was something going on between that girl and him. They were too comfortable around each other. Hunter was never usually that open to talking to people.

I ran frok my hiding place back to the bus stop before they could catch me spying on them.

On my walk home, I noticed a familiar face.

"Hi Katie!" A cheerful voice greeted me.
