I opened the door and the water hit my feet. Rain again Closing the door I opened my umbrella which met the rain instantly as I stepped down from the stairs. The rain slammed down onto the concrete. As I turned to close the fence the little red brick house covered in ivy appeared in front of me. The rain streamed down on the windows. I huffed as I trudged away, my boots stomping in the puddles. I was on my way to school, in fact Cedar Wood High School which so happen to be about 7 city blocks away. Which would be fine if I didn't have to walk in the pouring rain. My estranged aunt (whom so far I have only seen once, which was on the day that I moved in) who is never to be found nor does she have a car just told me to walk to school. I turned my head to gaze at the cars slowly driving along, glancing across the street to gaze at the old apartment buildings. 4 blocks left I nodded and took a step which made my toes meet the bumpy concrete that was shifted upwards. My eyes widen as I stumbled forward just in time for my umbrella to tip forward and cause the cold rushing rain to slide down my back. Cursing as I felt my shirt which was wet, I fixed my umbrella and checked the time. 6:49
"Uggghhh."
School starts at 7:00, which means I would either be just on time or about two minutes late. Picking up the pace I rounded the corner. 3 blocks left

I looked at the time, 6:54 and sighed with relief. The big iron gates were open to a huge burgundy building that had neatly trimmed grass in the area surrounded by pine and oak trees.
"Psh this looks like a private school."I laughed to myself as I made way to the building.
Opening the big old-fashion wood doors I met way with the entry hall of the school. Old worn carpet with a base of green and red surrounded by gold embroidery met my feet and also led to a huge archway leading into a wooden floor and another hall. A bench and pictures (including fake plants) were on the left side of the hall. I turned my head to see a huge oak desk on the other side which was covered in papers. Behind sat a young darker skinned women, who had velvety long black hair and who wore a fancy jacket. She was drop dead gorgeous, her fancy silver pin that read Mrs. Adisa matched her silvery glasses that were at the base of her nose. She looked up, pushing her glasses to the top of her head.
"Can I help you?" She questioned in a smooth yet formal voice.
I shook my head and blinked realizing that I have been standing in the middle of the entry and staring at her. My face felt hot as I saw other students pass by me. I recovered quickly and tried to have an asserted voice but it slowly drowned out.
"I...um...am new..."
She looked me up and down and raised an eyebrow.
"Name."
She demanded and I gave a half trot closer to her desk.
"Sage Falkov."
Mrs. Adisa nodded as she put her glasses on her nose flipping through papers.
Her left hand flashed a huge diamond ring along with her right hand which shone silver and gold bracelets. She pushed away from the desk and stood up.
"Please follow me Ms. Falkov."
She turned the corner from the desk to reveal her black skirt and heels which clicked on the floor as she left the entry.
I looked behind me and glanced at the door. With one deep breathe I turned back around while gripping my backpack straps and hurried after her.

As soon as I turned the corner, my eyes widen. The ceilings were raised high and had fancy chandeliers that hung low, around the walls there was a wooden trim. As I brought my eyes down I noticed lights on the wall and the huge green lockers. Kids were everywhere, scattered across the hallways opening lockers, closing them and going into rooms. I snapped myself back to Mrs. Adisa who was like 20 feet away from me already and quickly rushed back to her and stood behind her. Come on Sage get with it I sighed and continued onward, suddenly I got goose bumps and the air around me shifted. I turned my head slightly to meet a pair of eyes that were a deep dark red. Red My heart skipped a beat and my head pounded. Red My breath got heavy, my heart thudded. Like blood. My vision began to blur and I blinked, they were gone. I put my hand on my heart to slow its beat but it got even faster.
"Ms. Falkov?"
Mrs. Adisa had stopped walking and turned to gaze at me.
"Huh? Oh..um..sorry."
I quickly got back behind her and she continued to walk forward. I sighed and felt my cheeks grow warm but my heart was still out of control. Again...
