A LITTLE FAMILY HISTORY
I refuse to live another moment of my life running Nik. It is time this ends, once and for all.

THE EVENTS OF THIS morning replay in my head yet again, the same simple question coming to mind each time his name leaves her lips; how did they possibly find him? How did they know about him?

THE EVENTS OF THIS morning replay in my head yet again, the same simple question coming to mind each time his name leaves her lips; how did they possibly find him? How did they know about him?

I hit the end call button on my phone, yet again, and concern arises within me- yet again- because Nik is refusing to answer his bloody phone. What if he is in danger? Making a quick judgement call, I snap my fingers, lighting the white candle that sits on the small coffee table instantly, knowing that I do not have much time before the doppelgänger arrives and Rebekah could show up at any time. I- however- do not care; keeping this a secret does not mean more to me than him... he's worth the risk.

I stare into the flame, concentrating on it for a moment before beginning the chant softly, "Phesmatos tribum, nas ex veras, estas sue sastanance, trasum uiso. Mastenas quisa, nas metam." As the words slip quietly from my lips and my gaze focuses on the flame, the orange and red flickers consume my eyes and after a moment, my entire surrounding is changed.

I glance around myself, looking for Niklaus. My attention is grabbed by the slamming of a door just behind me. I spin around to watch as Niklaus stares at me, or rather my astral projection. "This is certainly a surprise love. What are you doing here?"

I glare at Nik for a moment before my face is washed over with immense relief that he is okay. "Well if someone would answer their bloody phone, I would not be having to risk exposing myself to warn you."

Nik looks at me with worry written in every feature, "Warn me of what? Are you okay?" I let out an anxious sigh, "They found him and they know who he is to you. They found the cave."

Niklaus' eyes widen knowing fully well that if they found the cave, it will not be long before they figure out the truth about what really happened to Esther... before Rebekah learns the truth of her mother's death. I continue on, "I told you that nothing good would come with the doppelgänger being alive, you should have listened to me because now we are in danger. You are in danger."

"You need to leave town. Now." His face holds many emotions as he speaks and I move closer to him pressing the palm of my hand against his cheek, "No. I refuse to live another moment of my life running Nik. It is time this ends, once and for all."

An exasperated sigh departs from Niklaus as he begins to plead- a characteristic none would expect of the original hybrid- "Emmaline-". I interrupt Niklaus, "Nik. I know you are worried but I can take care of myself. If Mikael dares to come, he will perish."
