Soldier 76 x Reader: Someone

Reader is female. Also this fic takes place 20 years ago, before Overwatch disbanded. For two lovely, lovely readers!

You're not quite sure what happened that night, you're not quite sure what you saw. You do know that  you was just minding my own business, going out for dinner as one does when they're hungry. You never would have thought the famed Overwatch would show up mid meal. You were sitting in the fairly empty restaurant, by yourself, with no one around you but a quiet couple a few tables away and an Omnic waiter. It was later than you'd usually go out, probably eight o clock, but you were on a business trip in a different time zone so it felt earlier than it was.

When the sirens started blaring in the streets, you knew that it meant you were supposed to get inside where it'd be safe. You were already inside so you just peered out the window as the streets cleared from the cool night air. You watched for a few moments before you heard rather loud yelling and several footsteps following the voices,

"McCree! Keep up!" A low, scratchy voice yelled,

"Yessir!" He sounded like a westerner, probably from the states, like you,

"Tracer you with us?" The scratchy voice again,

"On your left flank sir!" She was surely chipper, given the dark mood the scratchy voice set,

"We're pursuing the target, commander!"

"Roger." The presumable commander's voice clipped through a radio. Just then a group of three, dressed in black, sprinted past the window. You saw a glare reflect off their weapons, a cold shiver ran down your back at the sight.

You had heard spread of the Omnic Crisis that was apparently happening around the globe, but you had yet come face to face with any real danger from the so-called rogue Omnics. You grew up with them and called many Omnics your friends, you never saw any as a threat,

"Incoming!" The commanders voice clipped again, farther away now.

You crouched in your seat, waiting for whatever was incoming.

You don't remember the bomb hitting the building, you don't remember hearing it either. All you could hear was ringing in your ears and the distant sound of a woman crying. When you came to all you felt was pain, searing, unearthed, pain. You opened your eyes and looked up, you was looking at the night sky-that couldn't be right-but it was. You looked forwards and saw a crumpled building, rocks, steel beams, shattered glass, rubble. You looked down and saw your abdomen, shirt bloodied and ripped, you looked further down, a chunk of rubble the size of a tire car was crushing your left leg. Your arms were free, you knew that because you were desperately trying to pull yourself from the boulder, but it wouldn't budge. You screamed as the pain filled every nerve on your body, you screamed for mercy but no one could hear you over the gunfire. You heard bullet shells falling to the ground and various yelling across what you now realized was a battle field,

"Ana! Sniper, second story!"

"You're covered, Jack! I'll have your back!"

"McCree, behind you!"

"Got 'em!"

"Reinhardt, am I glad to see you!"

"Don't worry my friends! Reinhardt, at your service!"

As you listened to the yelling and gunfire and screaming, your vision was getting blurrier and you were seeing black spots. Your eyelids felt heavy like the boulder crushing your leg. You passed out in the rummage, you prayed someone would find you.

_____

"Reinhardt, over here!" You recognized the sturdy voice, the commander,

"Is she trapped?"
