"Hey, Ronnie can I talk to you?" I ask from across the room. Ronnie looked up at me from his work. "Sure." He replied. As he walks over to me, I gently grab his arm and lead him into the hallway of S.T.A.R labs.
"What is it, Cait?" He asks, looking at me with those, big, brown, lovely, haunting eyes.
Stop it Caitlin! Just get this over with!
I take in a quickly breath and grit my teeth.
"I'm breaking up with you!" I exclaim, squeezing my eyes tightly shut.
I slowly open them and see Ronnie's confused, angry face.
"What?!" He yells loudly, steeping closer to me.
I step back, then I let out a tin gasp as my back hits the cold wall.
"I-I'm sorry, I-I thought we could make this work, but we can't." I say nervously.
He's about to say something but then I do the stupidest thing ever.
My eyes start to water as I run down the hallway, away from Ronnie.
I can't believe I just did that!
I broke up with him.
Truthfully, it feels kind of good. Freeing. Because Ronnie never made me feel like-
made me feel.
My thoughts suddenly stop as I hit something hard yet soft. "Woah!" A voice exclaims wobbly.
Oh dear. "Ah, sorry." I say looking up into Barry's eyes.
Maybe this is a sign, a sign I should tell him how I feel!
Barry clears his throat and looks down backing away from me.
"Can I talk to you for a sec?" He asks.
"I was about to ask the same thing." I reply.
Barry leads me to the room where we keep the treadmill.
He slowly sits down and I sit right by him.
"Caitlin, this is, hard to say." He mumbles, his face flushed.
"I know how you feel." I murmur quickly.
"Why don't we, say it together? Huh? It'll make it easier." Barry suggests.
I nod and try to focus on breathing properly. "Deal." I reply.
Don't look at his face! You'll get distracted.
My heart feels like it's going to burst.
"I love you!"
"I think I'm in love with you!"
My whole world stops.
The second those sentences leave our lips we look up, into each other's eyes.
He can't love me! He's with Iris!
"Caitlin, I-uh, well, you're with Ronnie." Barry sputters.
"No, we-we broke up." I say.
I bite my lip.
"What about Iris?" I ask, stupidly.
"We broke up weeks ago, I-I was going to tell you but, you got with Ronnie and yeah." Barry says.
I star at the ground, what just happened?!
My brain is overloading.
"I-I was thinking about taking a break! L-leaving the lab for a bit." I spit out.
I can't believe I'm saying this!
My dream jut came true, but why does it feel so weird?
"W-what?" Barry asks, surprised, his voice cracking.
I quickly stand up.
"It's only be a few weeks." I mutter quickly.
My eyes sting. I don't think I can do this!
"No, Cait. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you-" I cut him off.
"Uh, I-I better go." I mumble.
"No! Caitlin please!" He says loudly as I walk to the door.
I turn around and look at him.
"I can't do it without you." He says, his eyes soft. He looks heart broken.
He loves me.
He loves me?
I whip around quickly and walk out.
Tears streaming down my face.
I think I just lost the love of my life!
