camila cabello — wednesday, july 21.

I smoothed out the fabric of my dress, going over the crumpled places and sighing, knowing that I'd have to iron it again. The black on the dress made me stand out, and I loved it along with every other detail. It was plain, and I would wear it with black heels. The curls of my hair bounced off my shoulder, lightly pressed on my back. I had dinner with the Mendes family tonight, and I wanted to look a bit representable, stated by my mother. I took a small twirl in front of thr mirror, and smiled to myself. I didn't want to seem cocky or anything, it was just that I looked cute in a sort of way. The mirror of the family's bathroom was clean, and it didn't have one little smudge.

Pink feathers lined up my journal, as I picked up my pen and jotted down ideas for my future apartment. I was twenty four, and I definitely wanted to live in my own apartment one day.

After I waited a few more minutes to wait for Papa and Mama, they finally were finished and shouted my name from downstairs.

I placed the journal under my bed, and rushed downstairs to meet my parents. Familar brown eyes made my way, and I blushed at the attention. The boy gave a warm smile, sitting down in the chair across mine. We sat at the end. His little sister was meanwhile, playing with her iPod and doing whatever she was at the moment.

Doing the same as the others, I pulled my dress down a bit as I sat down, so my pink unicorn underwear wouldn't show. Max couldn't make it to dinner; he had college things to do. The tension grew as no one would say anything, until I spoke up. I immediately regretted it.

"So, why . . are we here again?" I asked, taking a spoonful of butter and spreading it across my biscuit, licking my lips as it melted. Ugh, I loved these kinds of foods.

"We . . have some special announcements to make, regarding Shawn and Camila." Mr. Mendes said, lowering his head. Our eyebrows raised, exchanging glances at each other in confusion.

"Oh?"

The whole night went so awkwardly, not for the parents of course. They were laughing and babbling about irrelevant things, but for Shawn and my personal entertainment; it was very uncomfortable. As Shawn was about to get his phone, Mrs. Mendes slapped his hand away. He flinched, and gave her a glare.

"We have some important announcements to make," Mama smiled. I waited a few seconds for her response, but she just stood there not knowing what to say. Mama cleared her thoat, and swallowed. "Shawn and Camila are going marrying each other."

At first, I laughed my ass off from the joke they had pulled on me. Then, I reallized they were being serious. Like, dead serious.
