"I heard Calyx got his ass kicked,"
"Yeah I heard he was totally beat,"
"Omg did you hear how Calyx Andrews lost his fight last night?!"
"Word is Calyx got totally beat last night,"
"Guess what?? The Calyx Andrews got his ass kicked by a freaking girl!"
These were the whispers that me and Lavender heard in the hallway when we headed towards first period. I bit my lip to hold back a chuckle and saw Lavender doing the same. We rushed to homeroom before either of us could burst into laughter, not wanting to cause a scene. As we settled down in our seats, I turned my back to get something out of my purse and felt someone sit down next to me. "Sorry that seat-" I was cut off as I noticed the occupier of the seat. I narrowed my eyes. "What do you want Parkers?" I spoke under my breath, barely keeping a calm tone. I was in no mood for his bullshit today, to be honest.
"Do you need to know?" he asked, smirking.
"If it involves why you and your arrogant ass are sitting next to me, then yes."
He threw his hands up innocently. "Can't I sit where I want?" he asked.
I shot him an irritated look. "You're not even in this class, so move your ass out!"
"Actually," he drawled out in his British accent, with another smirk. "I am in this class, I just sit back there," he gestured towards the back where a group of girls were sitting, staring at the empty desk in between them and then at me.
I let out a long, tired sigh. "Then go sit with them," I was bored and, more than that, exhausted. "I'm not in the mood for this,"
He grinned. "Aw, what's wrong kitten?" he asked, then leaned closer to me. "Maybe a kiss will make it better?"
I threw him a disgusted glare and muttered so only he could hear me, "Get your arrogant ass out of my face."
He grinned, no doubt a grin that drove girls crazy, and leaned even closer. "Come on kitten, kiss me."
Seriously. It was a wonder the teacher didn't notice. Class had already started, as had our argument, a couple minutes ago. And we were sitting in the first row. Right in front of the teacher. Stupid teachers.
I stood up abruptly. "Ms.. uhh.. Ms. Hertz.. I'm going to.. to the restroom," I silently cursed my stutter and walked out quickly as she waved her chalk towards me indicating that she'd heard me.
Instead of going to the restroom like I hd said, I slid into one of the empty classrooms and let out a frustrated sigh.
"Well well well," I heard that familiar voice say. "What do we have here?"
Fuming, I sat down on a desk and crossed my arms. "What do you want S-Seth?" I asked, my voice cracking on his name. I cursed myself mentally again.
"Me? I'm just taking a restroom break," he said innocently and walked over slowly to stand in front of me.
I snorted. "I should've guessed you were going to follow me," I replied. Again, I got that feeling. I recognized this guy. Just something about him was too familiar.
His eyes challenged me. "What are you doing here? I thought you were going to the restroom."
"I could say the same for you." I countered, scoffing, then added, "Just fuck off and leave me alone."
He took a step closer. "No way, kitten." he said lightly.
I frowned at the nickname. "I'm not your kitten, you bastard, don't call me that!" I snapped.
