"Happiness can exist only in acceptance."
-George Orwell

Margo had found Steve, who came to her aid within the hour she made the call. She was in New York City, but by the time the Avengers had made it to where Margo was held captive all traces of a secret HYDRA base were gone.

It baffled Margo, she couldn't wrap her head around the concept of being sent back in time. People know came up to her on the streets and was constantly referred to as 'that girl who went back in time' by everyone, most didn't even know her real name. It seemed that everyone's minds had been altered by her time travel. Steve had gone over that she just disappeared after they got back to base, he assumed Margo was grieving. It wasn't until he went to her tent to check on her the next morning he discovered her disappearance.

Margo had been staying at the Avengers tower, Tony deemed her apartment was 'too civilian for a high class assassin' like her and insisted she stayed under the watchful eye of Jarvis. It wasn't like she had a choice, Steve had moved her into a spare room while she was gone.

According to the last person to see her before she disappeared, Clint Barton, she had only been gone for a few days. Those few days was a year in the 1940s.

The team had left her alone, they all knew about what had happened since it took place seventy years ago and could be found in a simple history book. That's why the entire team was surprised when Margo wandered into the living room while Thor, Bruce, Natasha, Clint, Rhodey, Tony, and Steve were essentially hanging out.

"Margo? Are you okay?" Steve immediately questioned, concern laced his features as he stood up from the couch. Margo nodded her head and put a hand up, a gesture that told Steve to stay where he was.

"I'm done moping. I've been acting like a five year old." Margo said, the ghost of a smile on her face. Clint patted the ground next to him and she gladly took the spot.

"So does this mean I can stop having Jarvis monitor you to make sure you were actually functioning as a human?" Tony ask with his usual joking tone as Margo pointed a finger at him accusingly.

"I knew something was off when every ten minutes Jarvis asked if I was okay!" She shouted, earning grateful laughs from everyone but Thor.

"But I thought Lady Margo needed comforting?" He mused loudly. Margo waved her hand, a signal saying that it was a joke.

"It's good to have you back Margo." Natasha said thoughtfully as she placed a hand on Margo's shoulder. The brunette smiled at her friends and rested her head on Clint's shoulder. Suddenly her eyes grew wide with realization.

"Oh I'm a horrible sister." She said as she shot up and sprinted to her room. She desperately dialed the number and placed the phone to her ear. After multiple rings the familiar voice chimed in her ears.

"Hello?" Connor asked. Margo cursed herself, she didn't check the time.

"Connor, it's Margo."

"Margo!" He was completely awake by now. Margo heard shuffling on the line as she paced the room. "Where are you? Where have you been? You've been back for a month."

"I know, I know. I'm an awful person. Can I come over tomorrow? Maybe I could take you and the girls to a fancy dinner? Bethany loves dressing up and Julia loves what Beth loves."

"Of course, and I assume you've been a recluse this past month."

"Yeah, but I'm over it. It's stressful, but I have to live, for him." Margo didn't have to give a name but Connor knew what she was taking about. "It's late, I'll see you tomorrow. Goodbye, I love you."

"Love you too." And with that Margo hung up and walked back to where everyone was.

"Forgetting to call the brother? Oh that's harsh." Tony mocked as Natasha reached over and slapped his arm. Margo felt exhausted, she had spent the last couple weeks crying and reliving that day on the train. The brunette walked over the the couch that held Thor, Bruce, Natasha, and Steve and sprawled across everyone's lap, her head resting in Steve's. The blonde brushed hair out of her face as she stares at the ceiling before turning her attention back the her friends on the other couch. For the first time since she lost him Margo felt completely content as she sat with her friends and joked the night away.

"Aunt Mimi!" The small children's voices rand through the air as the door swung open. She immediately dropped down to their height and squeezed them tightly.

"Margo." Connor said, not bothering to hide the wide smile that spread on his face. "Thank god you're here, Bethany wants her hair curled and I burnt myself plugging the thing in."

"I'll be right up, and don't touch the iron!" Margo called to their retreating figures. Margo turned to her brother had hugged him like the python she was. They both pulled away, a tear streaming down her face as she dug her hands into her pockets, a look of confusion on her face as she pulled out a photo. Her breath caught in her throat as she stared at the small piece of paper.

"Is that him?" Julia's small voice called. Margo had been leaning on the railing of the stairs, and didn't even notice the girls looking over her shoulder. Margo nodded as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. She handed the photo to Connor who looked like he wanted to see it but didn't want to ask.

"His name is, was, Sargent James Buchanan Barnes. But everyone called him Bucky." Connor showed the photo to his daughters before Margo reached out again to restudy his features.

"He's pretty." Bethany commented. Margo let out a genuine laugh, which placed a smile on everyone's face.

"Yeah, he's real pretty." With one last look at the photo Margo carefully tucked it back into her pocket. "Okay, prepare for the best family dinner ever."
