Draco and Hermione had been fighting since a week. It started off as an argument about some scholarly work, moving on to a lot of other things. This was the first real fight in the six months they had been together.

The entire Weasley clan knew about the huge spat. It was obvious from Draco's sorry state and Hermione's words. Both of them were stubborn creatures and refused to let anyone interfere and help them. Draco almost gave in once and on the verge of asking Harry to convince Hermione to talk to him. But he resisted, he wasn't going to be a coward and ask a mediator to do the talking.

Thus, at the moment, he was standing in front of Hermione's door, his fingers almost touching the doorbell. Tring, he pressed it. Merlin, please be with me, he prayed. The door opened, revealing Hermione in her full glory. Just a week and he felt like it had been ages since he last saw her.

"Hey," he said with a slight smile.

"Hi, come in," she whispered.

"I am sorry," he said stepping in. She instantly wrapped her arms around him and buried her head in his chest.

"I am sorry, too," she mumbled. "We are so stupid."

"I will agree with you on that," he laughed. "Merlin, I have missed holding you."

"I have missed being in your arms."

"Are we cool?" he looked down at her.

"Yes, Drakey, we are cool."

"Good, because I am making you dinner and my special dessert."

"I have certainly missed your cooking," she said as they walked to the kitchen, making him smile.

"Thanks, Grangie, I am flattered. So, that was easy, wasn't it? If I hadn't gathered the courage to come here tonight, I would have certainly gone to Harry or Weaslette for help."

"They didn't offer to help you?"

"They did, but I resisted."

"Great willpower."

"Just one of the perks of dating me, babe," he said and leaned down to kiss her. "Now, choose a bottle of wine, play some music, and let Chef Draco do his thing."

"Can Chef Draco also whip me something extra special?" she smirked coming closer to him.

"He would like that very much, but right now he has to serve his girlfriend."

"Humph, you are so boring."

"Sorry, but we are going to continue this after dinner, alright?" he said pulling her to him. "And I plan to make it really special."

"You better!"

"Do you doubt me?"

"I don't think I should answer that," she laughed.

"Grangie, you insult me," he said feigning heartbreak. While Hermione and he talked about everything they had missed the whole week, he cooked them a hearty three-course meal. He was prepared to bring things back to normal and cooking was the one thing that he did every time they spent the night with each other. During dinner, they argued about something scholarly once again, but never let it get out of control.

By the time they were settling in bed, Draco had managed to gather enough courage for the other thing he had planned to do. Ask his girlfriend something extremely important.

"Hermione?" he called out softly.

"Yes?" she gave him a curious look.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Sure, why do you even need to ask me that?"

"Alright, but just reassuring myself on this, we are good, right?"

"Yes, Draco, I told you that already. And don't you believe that yourself?"

"I do, but just confirming."

"Is that what you wanted to ask?" she asked and sat next to him on the bed.

"No, that was something else."

"What was it?"

"I have given this a lot of thought, alright? Nothing that happened last week has triggered it or anything like that. Yes, it has acted as a motivator, but definitely not the incident that started it."

"Alright then, what is it?"

"Hermione, you know that I love you. I have told you this a thousand times until now and you know that you are it for me. I don't think my Veela or human side wants anyone except you. I have made that clear, haven't I?"

"Yes, you have. And you have to know that I love you too, okay?"

"Glad you think the same, because I have something I want to tell you." Draco now faced Hermione fully. "I mean, I want to ask you if you will, um, move in with me."

"Merlin, Draco!"

"Sorry I asked that."

She took his hands in hers, kissed his knuckles before kissing his sharp nose softly. "Draco, I love you. I know you don't think highly of yourself, but I do, and I really love you. You are absolute perfection, and, yes, I will move in with you. Even if I think it's too soon, I know it's not wrong. I know I am going to be with someone who is beautiful."

"Hermione, I, wait, I cannot do this in words," he said and pulled her in for a deep kiss. The couple laid down on the bed, busy making out and unaware of everything around them, even Crookshanks jumping on the bed with them. It had been a long time (for them at least) since they had felt each other, breathed in each other, kissed each other. They made up for all the lost time tonight, never leaving each other's side, always managing to find an excuse to touch the other. For Draco, this night marked the beginning of his real relationship with Hermione. For Hermione, this marked the time where she could prove and show Draco how much he meant to her and the world. For the golden couple, this meant the start of something new, something more than they were experiencing right now, and also the testing of the waters. After all, this was only a trial period for something neither of them wanted to discuss at the moment. For right now, they only wanted each other.

I have been away for too long. I hated every bit of it. A thank to you to whoever has followed me in the past month or two and all those who have added my stories to their reading lists. Sorry for the disappointing absence.

This chapter is a bit short and almost at the end, but I shall make up for it. Three more to go, including the epilogue.

Much love,
M.
