Welcome to our flagship #NonFicSpotlight contest, which anyone in the world can enter!

To enter, simply add the tag #NonFicSpotlight to your work of non-fiction and we will select one story to spotlight each month.

If you have questions, please read the Q&A below.

Q&A

Q: What happens if we are selected?

A: Near the beginning of each month, we will release a chapter in this book with links to the winner's profile and/or book, so that everyone who stops by our book will see the spotlighted story. Additionally you will be added to our #NonFicSpotlight reading list, which will stand at the head of our reading lists. We will also broadcast the winner to our followers!

Q: What language is this contest?

A: Unfortunately, the only language we're able to accept at the moment is English. This makes us sadder than you know, but we just don't have the available staff to expand beyond this.

Q: What sort of books can we enter?

A: Any non-fiction book, no matter when you wrote it or last updated it.

Q: What qualifies as non-fiction?

A: Examples of non-fiction are true stories, guides and manuals, self-help books, cookbooks, memoirs, travelogues, well-researched biographies (not fact books), scholarly research, heritage explorations, and inspirational reading. See our profile description for the latest.

Q: What does NOT qualify as non-fiction?

A: Examples of works that ARE NOT non-fiction are fact books, rant books, spam books, fictional stories about celebrities, fictional stories about your friends or family, self-insertion stories, roleplay, and poetry (all poetry should be in the POETRY genre). See our profile description for the latest.

Q: Must my book be completed?

A: Nope! It just needs to have enough material to get people invested in your book. This determination will be made on a case-by-case basis.

Q: What happens after our spotlight is up?

A: Spotlighted stories will be spotlighted for one month. After that, the spotlighted books will be replaced by new books in both this book and in our reading list. Past spotlights will be added to a legacy reading list called "Past #NonFicSpotlight" and their spotlight page moved to the end of the book.

Q: My tag keeps turning into #nonficspotlight -- is that okay?

A: Yes. Wattpad automatically turns capital letters into lowercase letters in the tags, so don't worry!

Q: Can I share my book in the comments section?

A: You may, but only if you are entering the #NonFicSpotlight contest and also mention this explicitly in your comment. Any other form of advertising will be deleted. Advertisements made on other parts of this book will also be deleted.
