I winced at the pain in my abs as my stomach heaved and I vomited into the toilet again. Sweat dripped into the gross water and the sight and smell just made me throw up again.
I gripped the sides of the toilet and closed my eyes.
My record was two minutes of waiting before I threw up for the twelfth time.
Ryan sat patiently on the counter handing me a cold cloth whenever he though I needed it.
As I waited for the next wave of nausea, images of Caine flashed through my mind.
The night before I had blown him off and he got angry. The argument replayed over in my mind.
" Caine, I-I don't thinks we should do this tonight-"I scrambled away from his grip and pushed myself against the wall.
His eyes grew dark, "Lila- you can't expect me not to touch you."
I shook my head angrily, "why does this change anything?" I started, tears starting to form in my eyes, "you still almost got me killed, you hit me, you abandon me-"
"That was six fucking years ago, Lila! Please..." He growled as ran a hand through his hair.
"Feels like yesterday to me. I can't just forget how you treated me, Caine. It's burned into my memories!" My voice broke, "you hurt me."
He looked angrily at me, "we moved on from that, Lila. Didn't we?"
I shook my head, "it's the first night I've been awake Caine, the answer is no."
He growled and clenched his fists.
"God, that smells brutal," Ryan shook his head and scrunched up his nose.
I looked over at his from my spot over the toilet bowl. My eyes were watering and I'm pretty sure I popped some blood vessels around my eyes from heaving so much.
Ryan looked down at me. "You look great, Lila," he laughed.
"Shut up,Ryan," I croaked out. He grinned sillily at me and handed me the facecloth. I sat back on the ground and wiped my face, signing at the soothing coolness. I leaned back against the wall.
"Six years..." I sighed painfully.
Ryan gave me a sideways smirk, "yeah, we're all glad you're back though. Alec is coming back from Canada just to see you too," he said contently.
First I had to sort through things with Caine.
"Let's go downstairs 'cause I'm hungry," Ryan piped up and stood up.
I glanced up at him, "Ryan, where's Marlee?"
I saw him visibly stiffen. Maybe I shouldn't have asked.
"She's going to university in California. She got accepted two years ago, I didn't even know she was applying until she received her letter," he said hardly.
