An unusual day leading to unusual activities.

It was the last week of February and unbeknownst to them, the inseparable duo found themselves sitting side by side on the house's rooftop, heads turned skyward as their eyes viewed the array of twinkling dots in a vast sea of blackness.
Their hands moved closer to the others, until fingers interlocked, sending a warm sensation in both teens.
Sapphire and hazel orbs didn't leave the sky, but bodies seemed to shift closer and closer, eventually her head rested on his shoulder and his laid on hers.

The day was uneventful, to say the least. Surprisingly no magic, no monsters, and a head-conflicting pile of homework and quizzes.
It was the first gray day she had ever experienced on Earth. And she hoped it would be the last. Leading us to the first sentence earlier.

An unusual day leading to unusual activities.

To clarify the day was awful, but nighttime seemed a lot more interesting. Sitting on the rooftop, practically cuddling each other was never even considered as routine. It wasn't exactly the first time they've done it, but something seemed odd today.

Instead of seeing our favorite bubbly, cheerful, smile-causing princess, exploding with everlasting happiness, our protagonist stayed silent as thoughts jumbled all over her mind, questions being more confusing as to how her curiosity was widening for answers.

"Marco..." she began. Said person moved his head slightly to look down on her. "Have you ever thought about.... the future?" It had been bugging her for quite sometime now.

The boy hummed for a moment, thinking of a good enough answer. "Yeah... Graduating high school, heading off to college. Why do you ask?"

Her eyes averted his, and he knew instantly something was wrong. Before he could talk though, she had already beat him to it. "When I get back to Mewni..." she hesitated. "I might not be able to keep in touch here on earth. What would happen to us then?"

He was facing her now. Hazel eyes hovered over her with genuine concern. And she looked at him only to lower her head right after. "What if we aren't friends anymore?" she whispered.

The boy's brows raised. Why would she think that?

"Star..." he began. "Don't say that, we'll still friends. I'm positive we can find a way to still see each other, this dimension will always welcome you with open arms!" he hoped it would lift her spirits up.

Marco's eyes lit up when he saw her smile warmly. She looked at him again.

"Why do you always know what to say?"

The brunette smiled lovingly as he pressed his forehead against hers.

"And besides." he said, silently. "We don't have to get caught up in what would happen. All that matters is that we live life in the present and that we're still together."

He squeezed her hand reassuringly.

"Because I love you, and that would never change."

Who's been waiting for an update? *sigh* another one-shot that supports the idea of Star leaving earth. You peeps have any requests? Message me and I'll post the story in my request book. 'Til next time!
