Chapter 18

Damien started to cuss. "Great we can't even trust this f*cking girl either! She led us into a trap!"

"It's not her fault. How was she suppose to know?" Lucifer defended.

"How do you know that this wasn't a trap?" He asked now right infront of Lucifer. His hands were in fists and I could tell he was restraining himself.

"Believe me... I know." He said.

"Not to interrupt and all but we have a crisis here!" I said.

They both stopped their argument and looked at me. Damien let out a breath of air and ran his fingers through his hair. "What are we going to do?"

Lucifer looked over to Janet and Cassie. Janet could tell something was wrong but she put all her focus on Cassie so she wouldn't get scared. "Why not split up?"

"That's the most-" I cut Damien off.

"An awesome idea." I pointed to Damien, "You and Janet go and take Cassie."

"What about you two?" He asked.

"We'll find a way." Lucifer said, "You know where to meet right?"

Damien nodded, "Good luck." With that he ran to Janet and they left the park within a matter of seconds.

"Ditto." Lucifer said. He grabbed my hand and then we ran out of the park too. We kept on running till we ended up at the bus stop. I looked at Lucifer with a confused face. "Would these people really harm us on a bus full of other people?"

Ah sweet irony. Some people love it, and I hate it. The bus was empty and I didn't like the feeling of that. We decided to sit way in the back. There was an awkward silence between us. Lucifer decided to break it.

"Hey Aislinn...about that kiss..." I could tell he was having a hard time with it. His cheeks were showing alittle pink in them and he wasn't even looking at me.

I stayed silent, I know it's the worst treatment but I don't know what else to do or say. I just looked him hoping my eyes say it all.

He looked into them then sighed, "Right... well don't be mad...but...I- I don't regret kissing you. And I really am happy that I saved you." He smiled and it really took my breath away. His smile was genuine and it felt like he only smiles like that for me. He started to lean in. I started to feel something in the bottom of my stomach. Butterflies? Am I nervous?

I just stayed still waiting for his next move but it never happened. The bus stopped and the driver started to yell at us. "Okay you two love birds it's the end of the road. I need ya out."

We both turned to the old driver and gave a small smile indicating that we we're sorry. We both got up and went off the bus.

"Where are we?" I asked.

"The mall." Lucifer stared simply. He slid his hand into mine and started walking towards the mall.

"Will this one be empty too?" I asked sarcastically.

Lucifer chuckled, "We'll stay here till about dark then we'll go back to meet up with the rest."

We walked around and only did that. We didn't go into the stores to buy or look at anything. The whole time I could tell Lucifer was tense. Making sure that we were out of harms way. Eventually we decided to leave. When we did it was starting to get dark outside. We walked in silence for about an hour till Lucifer noticed a person up ahead of us.
